Oakes (6819), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jan 16, 2008 $6.99 for 12. Pale yellow with big bubbles. But props for the cool red/brown can with the pheasant on it. Smells like arse...really garbagey with glue and high alcohols...not lagered very long. Taste is about the same. Body is thin...mostly tastes of alcohol and corn and glue. Finishes poorly. Bov (4604), Bienne, Switzerland Jan 13, 2003 JPDIPSO (4210), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Apr 24, 2008 Memories of an after work brew at the Tophat in downtown St. Paul with friends when I was working in the area. I remember the times were better than the beer, but perhaps time heals some wounds. Straw color with a taller, fizzy white head. Wet pulp and hints of glue aromas. Watery, grainy flavors. Some light toasted malt does seem to poke in and out. I remember it not being good, but I don’t remember it being this bad. Light grape juice finish. DocLock (4083), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 22, 2004 Are the two South Dakotans before me serious about their ratings? Must be South Dakota humor. This beer has some aroma and some hoppy flavor. Not good, but better than most MBC crap. jcwattsrugger (3807), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 3, 2005 12 oz can-pours a medium thickness white head. Color is straw, pale-yellow. Aroma is mild grain. Taste is mild grain, good carbonation. Nice finish. Nice taste. This has been one of my regular beers for years. I didn’t have any on hand a few months ago when I started doing ratebeer entries. This is the first time I have had Schmidt’s in a few months, I still like it! For the price it should get a higher rating, but this is supposed to be only about the beer.
