Commercial Description:
OG 1054/44 IBU/5.3% ABV A smooth drinking ale, with the sweetness of the girl next door - hiding a darker and bitter side. Overall malty character with a Northern Brewer bite to even the taste.

Bottle from party shoppe on alpine, GR, MI. Cloudy copper with creamy beige/tan head. Aroma is slightly sour and earthy with a good amount of funk, smells a lot like la roja. Flavor is similar with a tad bit more sweetness with cherries and other fruit as well. Medium to light body with nice carbonation. I think they repackaged la roja, now I only wonder what this beer originally tasted like. If this was intentional I would give it a much higher rating.

The labels nice, because I love redheads. Hazy amber pour with some dusting of light off white head., Light nutty aroma with some chocolate, earthy yeast undertones. Flavor is sweet malt and yeast, a bit of caramel. A bit thin, smooth mouthfeel, slight bitterness shows up in the finish. Alright, nothing very impressive with these Schmohz beers.

Nothing fancy about this amber from Schmohz. Flavor was light and refreshing. Aroma was chocolate nutty.

Bottle shared by mmm///beer. Thanks Dennis!
Pours a dark amber brown with a small head. Smell is really nice. Nutty, chocolatey rich malt. Taste is dull maltiness with hints of chocolate and earthy, nutty flavors. Light bitterness follows. A bit thin bodied, but a nice flavor, and even nicer nose, and solid drinkability. Pretty good amber. Thanks again for sharing this one!

(Sampled 7-5-08) On tap at the brewery-murky dark amber/brown in appearance, razor thin head stayed around for a little bit, aroma of a shortly roasted malt with notes of yeast and hops. Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt is very enjoyable, some sweetness and bitterness at the same time which is very unique and pleasureable, finish is very inviting for another sip. Listed as a Cali Common on the bottle, but it’s still good whatever you decide what style it is.

Draft sampler at Schmohz. Poured a brown color with a moderate fizzy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Medium bitter flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration duration. Getting better brew.

Initially very bitter, but it grows on you. It has a reddish - brown appearance, light brown head with nice lacing. The flavor is very hoppy -- almost an IPA. the floral notes linger long in the aftertaste. And - the woman in the picture is HOT.
