esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Mar 19, 2009 On tap at Schmohz Brewing Company. Something was amuck with this one as it tasted a bit sour, perhaps it was infected? Looks pretty good in the glass and it’s black with a medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, light hops, light coffee and mild sourness. Taste of roasted and dark malts, mild chocolate and an unpleasant sourness. BBB63 (4198), La Porte, Indiana, USA Aug 7, 2008 2008 MiBGF: Nearly black with a very good head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, charred malt, hint of coffee, grassy hops, and prune esters. The taste has a weird twangy tone, oxidized and papery, spicy and charred finish. The mouth feel is oily and lush, chalky finish. Started okay but the flavor was a put off.
