On tap at Schmohz Brewing Company. Something was amuck with this one as it tasted a bit sour, perhaps it was infected? Looks pretty good in the glass and it’s black with a medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, light hops, light coffee and mild sourness. Taste of roasted and dark malts, mild chocolate and an unpleasant sourness.

2008 MiBGF: Nearly black with a very good head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, charred malt, hint of coffee, grassy hops, and prune esters. The taste has a weird twangy tone, oxidized and papery, spicy and charred finish. The mouth feel is oily and lush, chalky finish. Started okay but the flavor was a put off.
