One of the better scotch ale’s in the area as the alcohol taste is not overpowering. badnewsbeers (1026), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 27, 2006 Sampled at the Michigan Winter Beer Fest, Lansing. Dark brown body, thin creamy off-white head. Muddled, unrefined malt aroma with hints of brown sugar and toast in addition to alcohol. Started with dark fruits and a pleasant hint of "twigs and berries," but these characteristics faded away into a rather undefined malt sweetness and alcohol tones.
