A bright amber color pour with a thin short lasting soapy off white head, medium carbonation ,some jagged lacing left. Aroma is toasty with a light malty note , a little bit of yeasty fruit esters and maybe hints of caramel. Flavor is more malty than expected , a little biscut some spicy hop notes , lightly bitter , not as full or flavorful as I would like, thin mouthfeel but all in all this was a good sixer , quite sessionable . . . not too bad , give it a try .

Flavor is sweet biscuit, slight alc, fruit, some chalk, actually fresh tasting spicey, herbal hops and graininess. Light and watery body. A little too sweet for the style but tasty. esjaygee (1578), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA

Aroma of sweet toasted malt, fruit and toffee. Taste of fruit and malt with some light citrus mixed in, though most of the flavors were very muted. Finishes up a little dry with low bitterness. bigtaster (184), Grand Rapids, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 16, 2009 Dark brown semi-clear with beige head. Not much aroma, some malty sweetness. The taste follows, not much, some distant malt sweetness. Also some faint hops. Thin, wont get again. CharlesDarwin (1849), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 10, 2008 12oz Bottle. Aroma is faint and gives forth a mix of paint, dark toast,
moldy grains, and molasses. Confused, it is. There might be
some caramels, but there might also be a heap of diacetyl.
Pours a lightly hazed ruddy-amber, dark, with a soft, frothy
lace in mauve. Flavor again present an overwhelming lactic
tang. Was this made with sour malt too? A puckering, lightly
sweet estery mess. That sourness is just not welcome. Malts run
away and there’s a palpable rich dust character to the back end
of the beer. Some faint nuttiness can’t even begin to compete
with the weird tang and dust in this beer. Problematic. mmmbeer (764), Austin, Texas, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 19, 2008 (Sampled 7-5-08) On tap at the brewery- transparent dull copper in appearance, a soft hop aroma with notes of malt in the background. Hits the mouth with a high-small body, malt comes through in translation rather weakly for an ESB, some hops on the finish. Rather weak in my opinion, should be much stronger in the favor aspect overall. milewide (616), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
