Marked aroma of alcohol and dark fruits/raisins. Fruit and malt dominate the flavour. The alcohol is pretty well hid in the taste, evident in the warming finish. Full bodied, nice mouthfeel lightly bitter finish. Excellent. fonefan (11640), VestJylland, Denmark

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 5, 2007 Dark bronze with no carbonation. Sweet but never overpoweringly so. Not as much body as you would expect from a beer of this strength so it is quite dangerous. A very pleasant Dopplebock. JorisPPattyn (5174), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 17, 2005 Red-amber-brown beer, nice colour degradations; small off-white head. Great leafy (autumnleaves) and bready nose, slightly sweet but earthy, full. Quite sweet, nearly syrupy taste as "Belgian buns" on Sunday, sweet bakery stuff. Some sweet chocolate and again earthy. Very full bodied, but syrupy. Very sweet, but nevertheless nice Bock. Find it = try it. DrBayern (1137), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 15, 2006 12 oz. bottle. Ruby/brown with a nice 3" frothy head that collapsed to 1/2" in five minutes leaving some decent lace - not bad at all so far. Mild malty aroma that allows some alcohol through. Medium body, very lightly carbonated, and just faintly sticky. Malty sweetness dominates the flavor, but there is enough balance with some spicy bitter hops to prevent the finish from being overly sweet. Although it’s no Celebrator, it’s still brewed true to style, and very drinkable. asheft (1412), Marburg, Germany

Sweet malt aroma that is spicy and estery (bubblegum) and with sherry and nutty notes. Clear red-brown with a thin, off-white blanket. Sweet, darkish malt flavour that is sherry-like and with some nuts, balanced with a good bitterness. Some oxidized coffee notes as well. Medium body, moderate carbonation, moderately bitter finish. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 12, 2003 Strong and loaded with flavors. Fruity, bittersweet and promises of more. Something for a chilly evening. I haven't had that many doppel-bocks, but it seems to me it is a great way of actually making a really strong beer taste good. Malt liquors suck!
