Poured clear pale with medium frothy white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Light hoppy aroma. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. Light bitter hoppy flavor with a light dry bitter finish of moderate duration. Price to rating is still much bettter then most U.S. domestic premiums. BBB63 (4230), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 23, 2007 Bottle (Odenwalder Meister Pils) and served in a pilsner flute: clean golden hue with a small fizzy head and okay lace. The aroma has notes of grassy and aromatic hops, grainy and pale malts, and a hint of grapefruit like acidity. The taste has a minor note of bitterness with a cleansing acidic snap over a base of biscuity malts and and herbal finish. The mouth feel is clean enough I suppose, does keep it refreshing. Little depth here but drinkable, not offensive just a average pils. bubbleflubber (893), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jan 20, 2007 (Brewed under "Odenwalder" name.... Aldi purchased) Pours clear transparent pale straw into the glass. The head isn’t bad, initially soapy-sudsy, not very retentive, but decent lacing. The bouquet is airy corn, with grains and a tiny sour hop. Watery pilsner offering, with a unilateral floral hop and semi-dry biscuit finish. Mouthfeel is thin, devoid of much substance. Again, very unilateral and not complex. Very average.... what did I expect from the Aldi???? RAYBOY01 (1830), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 3, 2007 Terribly pale yellow pour...nothing going on here. The nose is very weak malts and a very light continental-type hopping. The flavors are very weak caramel malt, a light floral hopping, and a very watered-down type of mouthfeel. Disappointing in almost every way. Ron (1018), Rochester, New York, USA

| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 5, 2006 Not much of a classic German Pils. Appearance is pale, white head, nice lacing. Aroma of honey. Mouthfeel is buttery, small amount of hops at the end, not enough to call this a German pils. MiP (9087), Sønderborg, Denmark
