Light to medium bodied, dryish malty flavor, clean and lightly bitter with faint yeastiness and dry in the finish. Pleasant but for a German pils nothing fancy. From the Aldi variety pak-I thought the Golden Lager was more distinctive. Doggythedog (1589), Split, Croatia

Hmph. so I went in that bar, and asked which German beers they had. The barkeep suggested Bavaria. I did a half smile and politely told him that it was from Holland. I suggested that a friend told me that they had some "odd" German beer before, and he "remembered" that he still had Schmucker. Hm.
Anyway, it poured a big, thick but fluffy white head that went away at a medium pace leaving lots of scattered lacing. Walls of bubbles clung to the edges of the glass, but they went away soon enough. Lively carbonation in any case (though not fizzy). Yellow/golden colour (says so in my notes...... shrubber85 nailed it). The nose was faint, sourish, malt & dust. The taste started with a lemony sourness that gave way toa subdued honeyish maltiness Not much hops, one dimensional, but refreshing in a way. I’ve had worse. shrubber85 (2911), Wallhalben, Germany

Strong barley malt and hops aroma. Light golden yellow color with small head. Sour stale malt flavor with a moderate hops finish. A pretty poor German Pilsener - not even as good as some American macros. 2nd (Schmucker label) - same opinion if not worse (hops have a metallic taste to them). ogivlado (3070), Zagreb, Croatia

Grassy hops with slightly malty taste, light to medium bodied. Decent, but fairly good for the profane hessian beers.
