Poured a rich golden almost amber color with a moderate head and good lacing. Pleasant aroma-bready with some citrus. Light to medium bodied, clean slightly sweet malty profile with a spicy hop background and a little yeast. Short clean finish-good fresh tasting German brew. Aldi variety pak.

Found this one labelled "Odenwalder Golden Lager" at an Aldi in Batavia, Illinois. Bright, golden yellow pour with a very thick, white head. Baked bread and honey in the nose. Milky mouthfeel. Nice balance. Good! I continue to be happy with Aldi beers.

Golden in colour. Has a nice crispy hops aroma. Medium sweet malt, with a good balance of hops, which stay just long enough in your mouth. Medium body. Very pleasant beer!

Bottle (labelled Odenwalder for American Aldi’s). Sweet barley aroma. Golden yellow color with small head. Sweet barley malt and moderate hops flavor. Good body for the style. Who would have thought that an Aldi’s would have one of the best Dortmunders available in the US.

Drinking from a bottle of Oldenwalder Golden Lager: Nice pour, a bright gold color with a huge, creamy white head. Good lacing. It smells like warm buttered bread, a daub of honey, and distant garden flowers. Slightly oily palate, perhaps a bit thin. The flavor is sweet soft malts with the merest touch of an herbal bitterness that keeps the malts in check. Not bad.

Nice hop aroma. Golden color, medium creamy head. Spicy flavor, light malt, medium hop, quite sharp and astringent. Ligh dry, astringent bitterness in the end. Tasty, refreshing lager.
