I am not one that really appreciates this style of beer, so my ratings are going to be fairly low. I really liked the color of this and the aroma was okay. The flavor was a little too strong and weighty for my liking. Though I do like most full flavored beer, after drinking one of these I really did not want another.

(bottle) Clear amber colour with a mid-sized frothy off-white head. Shy and slightly sweet malty and bready aroma with a touch of herbal hops and raspberries. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, almost lively carbonated. Sweet malty start, toasty, bready and slightly flowery; not very round but also not unpleasant sharp finish, which is fizzy and hop bitter with a warming sweet malty aftertaste.

Copper brown, small off-white head. Lemony hoppy, a bit malty nose. Malty, bitter, grassy hoppy with alcoholic finish. Alcoholic bock with quite good malt profile.

Huge yellow-amber head; yellow-amber beer with, indeed a pale pink shine; very well carbonated. Slight bready nose, also something vaguely acidic. It’s probably the name suggesting, but I’m thinking of rosehips. Sweet, bready taste with a slight retronasal flavour of roasted bread with a disturbing flavour of mint, shortlived. Only medium bodied, fleeting alcohol impression; slick, but not cloying. Unlike the Doppelbock from Schmucker, rather uninteresting beer. Just a fancy name that lured me.

Bottled. Amber coloured with a huge off white head. Acidic aroma of wine and fruits with notes of bread. Nice sweet flavour of malts and bread with acidic notes of wine. Warming alcoholic finish.

Pretty amber with a low creamy, offwhite head. Honeyish aroma. Fruity and wooden notes, malty sweet, alcoholic, sweet finish. Sticky mouthfeel, medium to full body.

Light sourly, malty sweet aroma. Nice rose color, light yellow head, medium lace. Malty fruity flavor. Astringent, light bitter finish. O.k. but unbalanced.

Don’t expect to be drinking a bock because you’ll be disappointed. If you judge it on it’s own and not to its style it’s quite a nice beer. Port and prune aroma. Amber/orange color, off-white head, good lace. Full, hoppy, orange flavor, bitter, alcohol, sweet. Long lasting little burning finish.
