50 cl.bottle. RAther than dark, the colour is deep red. Large but not much lasting brownish head. Hard to find faint roasted aroma of dark fruits and chocolate, with some coffee. Watery in mouth, coffee and molasses, with some notes of fruits. Thin body.

Pour is a amber with a average tan head. Aroma is malty with no hops showing up. Flavor is a bit weak for a schwartz. Some malts show up but overall this is a pass.

Bottle purchased at ALDI as Oldenwalder Sampler. Poured clear dark brown with medium frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate toasted malty aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Medium sweet roasted flavor with a light sweet finish of short duration. My expectations where met even with the soft finish.

Pours a very clear reddish-cola brown with a short, tan, fully-diminishing head. Pruney, roasted malt aroma with alcohol notes. Thin flavor with a sweet, roasted malt character. It’s O.K... I’d drink it again but wouldn’t seek it out.

Bottle: Deep amber coloured, very small, lacing foamy layer; moderate dark malty nose with a distinctive toasted-malty touch; light bodied, mainly dry bitter (-malty) flavour; malty, toasted-malty bitterness, almost a bit coffeeish, in the short finish. A decent, but not a great Schwarzbier.......

(Brewed under the "Odenwalder" brand... purchased from Aldi) Pours ruby-cola into the glass, with not a retentive head whatsoever. The nose is of roasts and malts, light and indiscernible. Small esters and dry light roasts on the upfront... not bad, with a muddy dry-roasted finish. The mouthfeel is, like the others in the sampler pack, light and lacking of complexity. Ok, I guess, but nothing to write home about....

Drinking from a vottle of Odenwalder Schwarz Beer: This poured a deep mahogany body with a thick tan head that did some sparse lacing. The aroma is sweet with roasted malt. A bit thin, but it delivers some nice roasted flavors and a malty sweetness that’s held in check by a light earthy bitterness. Not complex, but sessionable.

From the Odenwalder 12 pk at Aldi’s. A dark beer with a sweet malty aroma. The body is on the light side with flavor of sweeten malt. Slightly bitter ending but ok.
