| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 27, 2009 Bottle. Pours an average sized (for a Hefeweizen), fluffy, white, lasting head. Clear, deep golden body with abundant yeast clouds and active C02 bubbles. Looks fabulous! Pleasant aroma of wheat malt and spicy, herbal noble hops. Looks like they dry-hopped with Hallertauer. A little bit of Bavarian countryside grass. My only knock on the aroma is the presence of alcohol. Smells a tad boozy. Taste is first and foremost dominated by the yeast - dough, banana, a touch of bubble gum, clove, and vanilla. Some citrus is also present in the flavor profile. Like the aroma, my one gripe with the flavor is the boozy alcohol. Not as bad as some 8%+ beers fall victim to, but still more than necessary. Medium-light, creamy body with lively carbonation and a somewhat bitter finish. Balanced though. Overall a really good pale Weizenbock that could be stellar if the booziness were diminished. I dont think it necessarily needs to have less alcohol, but cooler fermentation temperatures would possibly help. Tweety (344), Vancouver, Washington, USA

TK2 bottle at home ... amber ... short lived white head ... light soapy lemon little yeast ... light pine hop ... quite bready... juicy ... some hop resins ... 3.5
ok on to side by side with its Brother ...colour more yellow golden ... nose is softer and more soapy ...duller up front but seems to have more depth and a more complex finish ... I suspect this would be a bit easier to drink lots of but it just doent seem to hit the spot quite so well. 3.6 Adenila (950), Denmark

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 24, 2009 Bottled 50cl. Courtesy of joss. It pours a really murky milky copper orange beer with a tall, nicely lasting white head which leaves a beautiful lacework. The aroma is extremely interesting, fresh and mindblowingly good. Yasmin, peach, apricot, vitamin tablets, yeast with a huge amount of blood orange and mango showing up which is accompanied by bittering hops. Wonderful taste. Reminiscent of Unibroue Trois Pistoles in a strange way- very fruity with a similar yeasty touch, though different in style and hop profile. Some marmite sneaking accompanied by wild strawberries, yasmin and mango. Sweet. The hops add a lot to this beer (dry hopping) which results in a relatively low bitterness. (Though high for the style of Wiezen Bock). Hops, tropical fruits an licorice in the finish. Schneider Aventinus is really overrated in my opinion- this Weizen Bock transcends the latter. Thanks a lot joss for this fantastic beer! dnoaksson (179), , Sweden
