Nose was massive amounts of dark fruits, i.e. raisins, plums, etc. Some dark malted wheat is apparent along with some spice. Great carbonation on this yet it still retains some silkiness in the body. Flavor was the aforementioned dark fruits, wheat and spice. Very good brew. IPAGargoyleGuy (139), Troy, NY, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 18, 2009 Did an alright job of hiding the alcohol, but the flavors were very nice. Similar spice, caramel and fruity flavors to the regular. I like the drinkability and more subtle flavors of the original, but this is still pretty good. amp811 (38), Charleston, South Carolina, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 18, 2009 I actually prefer this to the regular Aventinus, but they’re both so damn good, who really cares? Ultra-intense flavors, it’s almost hard to describe. I was actually shocked (in a good way) when I first sipped this beer. I was unaware you could pact that much explosive flavor into any liquid. You can definitely taste the alcohol, but it’s a nice compliment rather than an unpleasant surprise. Itzjerm (70), Harvest, Alabama, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 17, 2009 It does have an alcohol flavor mixed with a wheat and strong beer flavor. Enjoyable. To be sipped and savored. Easy to drink at 12% alcohol. Very dark spice and flavor! baggio (198), norrtälje, Sweden

The normal Aventinus is great and this is a concentraded version if it, can’t go wrong with that. Very good stuff! sjolles85 (90), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 11, 2009 I am a huge fan of the original Aventinus. The eisbock version is amazing as well. The concentration of flavor is outstanding, and even though its 12% you cant really taste or feel the alcohol on the palate. evanrail (41), Prague, Czech Republic
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 9, 2009 An amazing amount of sediment and gunk at the bottom of this three-month-cellared bottle which retains most of the great spice and stewed fruit flavors of the regular Aventinus, presenting them anew in greater concentration and depth. Outstanding.
