Bottle shared at tasting.
Pours a dark brownish color and smells of strong, sweet and alcoholic caramel. Rich and flavorful, but short of cloying. Taste rich concentrated malt flavor, some toffee like notes and overall pretty good. Surprised by this one.

Jul 7, 2008 11.2oz. 07 bottle from MO. Pours a murky amber brown with a thin light tan head that left no lacing. Aromas of sweet malt, bread, and a alcohol. Tastes of the sweet malt and bread fallowed by wheat with a lighter than the aroma suggests alcohol finish. Big body, very lively carb, thin syrupy texture, warm alcohol feel. An interestig and fine big beer. I’m not a big fan of the weizen’s, but this one is a worthwhile sip.

Jul 1, 2008 Poured from the bottle into a glass mug. Difficult to pour as the bottle was chilled, producing a cloudy copper body topped with a thick off-white head of foam. Aroma contained the slight whiff of alcohol, hops, and wheat. Heavy bodied, sweet, with notes of caramel (perhaps maple). The alcohol warms and helps to define this brew.

Jun 29, 2008 Weak headback to nil cover on a dark burgundy pour,very good carbonation.Aroma floral,wheat sweetness,malt,coriander,plum,banana.Flavour port wine,banana,maltiness,toffee/wheat sweetness is good,puts a bit of tang to the drink,one to be enjoyed slowly at 12% alcohol,it,s very enjoyable.Finish full flavours,dry(port wine,toffee,banana) stand out.

Jun 28, 2008 500mL bottle poured into my trusty stein- poured 10 percent murky, darkened amber-brown color, medium carbonation, off white head bubbled away with small features of lacing. Aroma of a nicely roasted wheat malt with notes of banana, clove, and grain alcohol. Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt is workable but kind of weak, a slight coffee note in the middle, finish of hard booze and a smile. Not for the faint of heart, but I like it.

Jun 24, 2008 My first experience with an Eisbock. Beer is a cloudy amber color, and given time some sediment collects in the bottom of the glass. It produced a nice 2-finger head and lacing was apparent as I drank it. Initially, right out of the fridge, the smell is all fruit. As it warms you begin to pick up the alcohol in the aroma. The front of the tongue gets a nice fruity-sweet taste, but the back of the tongue gets an aftertaste that is almost all alcohol. You also get a slight alcohol burn as it goes down, but that is slighter than you might expect given the ABV. Overall, I found this a pleasant beer to drink, but doubt I would ever drink more than one in an evening.
I would rate the flavor and palate another point higher if the alcohol level was hidden a little better, but I wouldn’t turn one of these down given another chance to drink one.
