Apr 25, 2009 Bottle. Ruby coloured beer. Persistent head. Banana, peach, apricot, vanilla, very sweet, hint of caramel too. A magnificent beer that is better than most Belgians IMO. I wish it was more widely available here in the UK. One of my all time favourites.

Apr 24, 2009 Appearance: Pours a near clear, brown-amber body with a fluffy, downright voluptuous, off-white head.
Smell: Dark, sweet-scented wheat malt aroma full of notes of cocoa, caramel, banana chips, dark fruit, and with a particularly fragrant spiciness and minor whiff of peppery alcohol.
Taste: Deeply toasted wheat malt flavor with tastes of spiced chocolate powder and a bit of dark caramel candy. Heavy-handed dose of cracked cloves and cinnamon. Raisin-flavored bubblegum and banana fruitiness. Spicy, slightly herbaceous hops with a subdued bitterness. Sourish yeast quality. Dovetail of spicy phenolics and sweet malted wheat in the final tastes. Finishes malty and warming with a lingering spiciness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-high, lively carbonation. There’s a delicate touch of stickiness to the mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Recommended. An exemplary weizenbock full of fine complexities to savor and indulge in.

Pours a thin long lasting head over a cloudy brown body (SRM 15-20).....nose of citrus, lemon and clove with some allspice....taste is initially very spicy, almost fruit cake like with clove, allspice, as well as sweetness, finish is lingering spice and licorice medium dry end....mouth feel is light, carbonation medium. The spice flavors are incredible. DELICIOUS!!!

Apr 19, 2009 Bottle (500ml). Poured extremely dark muddy brown (boarder lining black) with a small, lightly tanned, frothy head which was very shortly lived. A rich complex aroma with plums dunked in brandy, raisin toast, caramelized dates, orange chocolate, white pepper, all spice and dried bananas. Flavor was of rum & raisin chocolate with a light bitterness, ripe plums, yeasty malts, cloves, all spice, dried pears and a pepper finish. Very well hidden alcohol content. Full bodied with medium carbonation, a dry mouthfeel, somewhat syrupy texture (but not overly so) and a long finish. Perfectly balanced.

Apr 18, 2009 Pours murky auburn/brown with a nice tan head. Nose is very complex. Trademark banana and clove as well as some dark fruit and caramel/toffee. Palate translates well & is multi-layered. Some caramel malt & banana sweetness early before dark fruit and spice. Finishes malty with a a slight sourness from the wheat. High ABV handled beautifully, classic!

Apr 12, 2009 Updated: Aug 27, 2009Pours a hazy dark brown with a delicious rocky, off-white head. Smells fresh yeasty and a bit "dunkel" with some cinnamon, cloves and bakery - reminds me of christmas. Those aromas continue in the flavour... I can’t put my finger on it exactly, it’s like christmas bakery, almond, ginger bread and dark chocolate... No clear hint of the alcohol and no bad aftertaste. Great, flavourful brew that goes down quickly with a creamy mouthfeel.

Apr 11, 2009 dark and cloudy. pairs the best flavors of weizens and bocks. great banana bread flavor from the hef and intense malts from the bock. theres lots going on here and all works out to create a great experience.
