09maso3 (69), vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Oct 28, 2009 Russet colored with medium white head. Highly carbonated. Traditional wheat aromas; bananas, cloves and dark malts. A lot of banana and vanilla in the flavour. Also licorice and chocolate, hard to detect the alchohol. Thick with quite a lingering sweetness. Really easy drinking for an 8.2% beer, but not as complex as i had hoped for all the hype it gets. thenumber1g (68), Cary, North Carolina, USA Oct 26, 2009 Excellent German Bock! Hermod (247), Vantaa, Finland Oct 8, 2009 50cl bottle, Alko. Pours brown color. white head, that lasts.Despite the high alcohol , quite easy to drink. Taste of raisin and banana, very enjoyable. gyllenbock (238), Stockholm, Sweden Oct 7, 2009 Bottle. To begin with, the beer has a nice dark brown cloudy color. Smells much yeast and spices.
The taste is quite rich and thick. The classic taste of banana is there, but not as significantly as in other wheat beer. Spices, a pleasant sweetness. Some hints of raisin, plum and black currant. Easy to drink despite its 8.2%.
A wonderful beer in all ways, well-balanced. After-taste is pleasant with clear elements of yeast and blackcurrants.
