I’m picking up lots of banana with cloves. Some sweet chocolate aromas are coming through too. Very sweet flavor. Great mouthfeel. Almost a belgian amount of carbonation but has a nice rounded wheat subtlety to it. Very carmel flavor with a nice fruit blend backtone. You really have to let the beer sit in your mouth to get all the flavors out and there is plenty going on. A very interesting and unique beer. PJClarke (620), London, Greater London, England
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 10, 2009 Really dark with a very German head. Sweet wheaty smells with odours of banana and light caramels. In the mouth we have a small amount of bitterness that dries the mouth in the finish. Also making an appearance are slightly burnt toffee flavours with confectioners banana making an appearance again. Possibly a little orange to it also.
Big and lively in the mouth texture-wise. It’s a great beer. It has a real depth that one doesn’t find too often in a Weizen of any style. Gary (352), Buckinghamshire, England

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 8, 2009 It was interesting. I had never had a wheat/doppel mixture. It turned it into a dark wheat beer which I was on the fence about. br3wmeister (1), , Minnesota, USA does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 5, 2009 A- Huge fluffy off white head with some larger bubbles within that break making a rugged texture as the head drops. Great head retention but minimal lacing.
S- Lots of nice spicy and sweet aromas in the nose. Caramel and honey blend together in the to make nice sweet aromas along side some dark fruits and herbal spice. Some earthy aromas come through as well, hints of hay and grass, with a nice floral hop presence.
T- Lots of dark juicy fruit hits the tough, raisins apricot and plums. So sweet roasted almonds and nice caramel flavors blend nicely with the fruit flavors. The yeast adds a nice spicy herbal taste that brings out great character. Lets not forget the hops, Bring some nice bite to the palate and balance the flavors out with a nice citrus and pine bitter.
M- Very soft and silky medium bodied beer, great balance and good carbonation, I am not sure I could ask for more out of the mouth feel.
Overall this is a great beer, I love this stile, it is very soft but yet very complex. Great malt and hop character and the wheat does wonders. All the ingredients play well together in this brew. fata2683 (860), Panama City, Florida, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 28, 2009 Not too bad. This has a nice thick head to it. Color is a light brown/ dark gold color. This has a mild malty aroma. Taste is full of a sweeter malt flavor. For 8.2% abv, this might be one of the smoother brews I’ve had the pleasure of tasting. Aftertaste has a very slight but pleasantly bite. foundmd (163), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
