Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

Bottle. Not my type of beer, far too shallow and piquant. Decent enough on the nose, amost exotic. Very insubstantial on the palate, with unsatisfying mouthfeel. Overall not something I’ll repeat.

Hazy, dirty orange-brown color with cloudy, beige head. Sweet malty aroma is banana-like and a bit caramely. Sweet and sour flavor is malty, spicy, citric, yeasty and alcoholic. Quite full-bodied and foamy carbonated palate. Reminds me of some belgian strong ales, especially aftertaste.

From bottle. Pours deep cloudy amber-brown with a generous tan head. Classic German weizen aroma. Sweet start on the palate but finishes slightly sour. Very complex. Deceptively smooth - no hint of 8+% alcohol. No chocolate flavors because I drink it too quickly.

Creamy top on a hazy maroon bottom. Jammy, strong cloves and banana with smoky wisps of chocolate and spicy fruit cake. Piqaunt, racing carbonation, plumy sweetness and acidity into a drying alcohol finish. Fluffy, slick and full.

Delicious, strong and spicy; a different beast when young!

50 cl bottle, best before 25 June 2009.

smells incredible. Yeasty, a little musty, some alcohol, comes together somehow sweet and makes me want to sniff it instead of drink it. nice big white bubbly head on top of a murky brown body. Robust flavor with banana notes, hefe flavors, semi sweet caramel along with a nice dark malt presence and quite a bit of alcohol. warming as it goes down but the alcohol flavor isn’t obtrusive at all, even though it’s very noticeable. it fits in with the other flavors. chocolate flavor is very subdued but it’s there if you let it warm up. this is rated highly for a reason, and at $3.99 a bottle it’s a no brainer. i’m not the biggest wheat/hefe fan but if you are this is going to knock your head off.

One of my favorites. Pours a dark redish hue with a considerable tan head. Aroma of wheat, malt, and citrus, very nice. Can taste wheat, spice, and dark cherry. Mouthfeel is perfect, not to thin but easy to drink. Strong beer, it sneaks up on you, its easy to forget that it is 8.2 because it tastes so smooth. One of the best out there.

A Magnificent beer. Dark brown with a nice fluffy off white head. Banana/plum and spice aroma. The Alcohol radiates off the palate. Full bodied but not filling. One of the best Weizen Bocks I’ve ever had.
