Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

Poured a dark brown with a white head from the bottle at NYC’s Loreley. Great wheat aroma with cloves, pepper, and bananas, not to mention plenty of malty sweet goodness from a bock. Raisins, fruit, and dark bread. What a wonderfully balanced beer. Excellent on its own. A new favorite.

Now this is what makes me understand why there is a different rating part for appereance of the beers. Looks absolutely great. Big wheaty aroma, full body, sweetish taste with a lot of things going on, banana and marmite and all kinds of things pop into my head when I taste this great beer.

...bottle from Cloudwine. This stuff was very impressive. On the nose, has raisins, grape, plum dark fruit like aroma, with hints of spicy clove. Pours a dark browish red\purple, with an off white head that didn’t seem to last for me, but oh well. On the tongue, it massages the taste-buds with a wheaty, slightly caramelitic, fruity goodness, with hints of clove in the finish. Went down very well for such a high ABV, with almost no alcohol flavor. Not too heavy, with nice carbonation that distributes the many flavors. Very easy drinking, and I wish I had gotten two, or more. I definitely want to find this on tap, but doubt I can here in Melbourne. One of the best weizen bock’s I have had so far, and it seems hard to top. A must try for Weizen fans.

500ml Bottle: Aroma is slightly sweet. Smells of spices, cloves, pepper, grains, yeast, and some raisins. Poured brown in color with a large, fizzy, tan head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of raisin, cloves, pepper, spices, malts, and alcohol. Medium body. Sticky, tingly texture. Lively carbonation. Spiced, clove finish. Over-carbonated.

I tried this the other night at a local bar, I loved it so much I had to find it again. It has a very cloudy golden red tint to it. I tastes just like it smells, kinda fruity with a slight bitter finish to it.

Pours hazy brown/red with a dense white head. Aroma is pure phenols... lots of banana, christmas spices, and sweetness. Flavors follow suit. Strong banana flavor, with a huge clove kick as the beer warms. Obviously a strong beer by the flavors, etc, but the alcohol is hidden. No burn or flavor from the alcohol. A true testament to what can be done just by fermentation. Amazing that yeast can produce this many flavors.
