Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

Smells kinda mentholy or minty, reminds me of crest toothpaste. Also has aromas of cigar tobacco and ash. Tastes of chewing tobacco, brown sugar, molasses and subtle citrus notes. Really nice lacing in the glass.

A nose of anis, strawberries, yeast and banana. Taste is of yeast, banana, chocolate and sugars. It’s salty and has a little complexity to it. This one has been in my cellar for a while, and it’s probably better fresh.

500ml bottle. Maple syrup-like color with a huge, rapidly dissipating, tan head. Aroma is full of lots of nice spices, caramel, honey, dark fruits and some earthy aromas come through as well. Flavor contains dark juicy fruit and roasted almonds. There is some nice caramel flavors blend nicely with the fruit flavors as well. Overall this is a great beer, very complex but all the ingredients play well together in this brew. I need to get back to more German beers now!

From a bottle poured a dark ruby/brown color with a fair amount of head. Nice strong sweet malty flavor with a lasting aftertaste.

Unusual favor, you can’t really compare it to any other beer out there. But, hands down this is one the world’s top 10 best beers.

I think this is my first weizenbock and since it is a top 100 beer, I had to buy it. I poured this into a weizen glass (duh) and the head was aggressively foamy and cream colored. The actual beer is dark, cloudy brown with red at the bottom and edges. It smells very yeasty, cloves, and spice. Tastes like spice, clove, yeast, wheat, some chocolate (barely), and some dark fruit, little apricot (which I haven’t had in years). Alcohol was unnoticeable but the phenols were certainly there. Good stuff. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 07-05-2007 15:35:17

Perfect looking untill the head disappeared. Smells of spicewith a bit of fruit. Medium fizz. Spicey taste, tastes like leffe with a cleaner finish.

bottle - pours a deep brown with an off white head. Nice big spicy upfront aroma predominantly cloves with an underlying yeast and malt aroma. Flavour was not what I was expecting, lovely fresh malt with the spices coming through in the background. flavours are all well balanced with a slight bitter finish. You would never pick this as a 8.2ABV it is remarkably smooth and well balanced!
