aubucs (15), Florida, USA May 18, 2008 pint bottle into an imperial pint glass. Pours a very cloudy brown with a nice head. Sweet malty smell with some bread smell. Bananas and malt in the taste. Nice carbonation, crisp mouthfeel. Strong alcohol is very well masked. As good in the style as I have had. zappafan99 (462), South Carolina, USA May 17, 2008 Updated: Jul 16, 2008Cloudy brown murk. White fizz on top. Wheat, fruit and malt aroma. Full bodied, sour and even. It tastes as good as it looks murky. Very. Wow.. alcohol isn’t present until the end. Mmm..Very good. (Tried the 4 yr old, didn’t enjoy much.) Sregnar35 (729), Rotterdam, New York, USA May 16, 2008 Excellent stuff. Pours a great brown red with a slight sweet smell. Flavor is very doppelbock, but it has more to it, way more depth of flavor, very nice. daknole (2805), Plantation, Florida, USA May 16, 2008 I have had this a good number of times and it is simply wonderful. Brown pur wtih a foamy head. Very sweet nose, dried fruit, candy sugar, chocolate, sweet spices and super malts. Tongue is much of the same. Sweet, caramel, malt, honey, molasses. Just a beautiful brew. WallyWalrus (205), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA May 14, 2008 500ml bottle. Pours just like a coke -- a pale brown with a billowy-but-fleeting off-white head and loads of carbonation. Aroma is so strong it hit me from a yard or two away -- lots of caramel, brown sugar, dark fruit, chocolate, roasted malt, spices, and a bit of wood. Taste is creamy and fairly full, with loads of roasted malt, syrupy hops, and caramel building up into a long finish of dark fruit, spices, and warming alcohol. If you need proof that Germans know their beer, look no further. tompete (72), Burlington, Iowa, USA May 12, 2008 2001 on outside of bottle. Pours a cloudy dark caramel color with no head. Gushed a little when the bottle was opened, but no off smells or taste. A rich malt bouquet of dark candies and a hint of chocolate. A full body and a heavy malt background is accented by a creamy bitterness. The finish is a well balanced sweetness. Great. craftbeerdesign (731), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA May 11, 2008 bottle poured into Aventinus glass... pours a beautiful dark brown with a lighter bottom... excellent 2 finger white head... it is a beauty to look at in this glass... 5/5 for sure. The best weizen bock ... lives up to it’s rating. Aromas of fruits, spice and brown sugar. Medium to full body with a wonderful palate... the finish brings out the alcohol and some caramel... very well balanced and full of flavor. The commercial description really sums up this beer well... very drinkable, very soft and one of the best beers in the world. Grossecaisse (108), France May 10, 2008 Updated: May 14, 2008Excellente bière, présente en bouche, bonne redescente.
Assez forte (8,2%) mais agréable.
