Excellent mouth feel, nice hint of alcohol on the aftertaste. Overall, a very good beer. gotohelunc (473), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 29, 2008 Bottle. Bright maroon color with a thick white head. Delicate malty nose and flavor. Lovely balance, smoothness, and a complexity that grows on you. Has the simple flavors of a much lighter beer up front, but just keeps growing as it goes down and the more you drink. Really good beer. tnkw01 (175), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Apr 29, 2008 Bottle. Wonderful beer. Smells spicy, with cloves coming through very strongly. Nice brownish red color that is slightly cloudy when held to the light. Nice head. Just like the description "compact, stable and long lasting...." Taste is one of the best weizen beers out there. Highly recommended. Kenbeer30 (41), Texas, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 27, 2008 This Ale is amazing! Mine came in a 1 pint bottle. I roused the yeast off the bottom prior to opening this bottle. Then I opened the bottle and let it sit for 5 mins. Then poured about 2/3 into my favorite pint glass. Then roused the bottom again and finished pouring. It pours a smokey burnt-umber with glimmers of deep maroon when held to the light. The nose is yeasty-cloves with warm bread overtones. Very exciting aroma, make one want to drink. The mouth feel is pleasant, full, creamy, light carbonation. The taste in the front of the tongue is sweet citrus, but not ordinary orange or lemon... more like star fruit. The sides of the mouth and cheeks pick up the cloves and the back of the throat get the tamed bitters. After taste lingers cloves. Even though the alcohol content is high, you don’t taste it, but it does warm you from the inside out. FANTASTIC.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 27, 2008 2004 Bottle from Westpark in Richmond, Can’t believe I haven’t rated this yet! Orange amber color with a big head and a fair amount of lacing. Aroma of deep raisin and alcohol. Taste of caramel, dark fruit and vanilla. Effervescent and a little thin bodied. Disappointing compared to fresh. hoplover406 (204), Crofton, Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 27, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark, murky brown with thin off white head. Aroma is wheat, clove, malt and butter. Soft palate that is creamy. Delicious flavor. The wheat seems to present a somewhat subdued forefront followed by a decent bitterness in the finish. Very good beer. Lothore (276), California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 27, 2008 Pours deep brown with an excellent cream colored head. This brew smells of sweet fruits. The taste is also of sweet fruit, namely dried apricot and darker fruit. It is highly carbonated with an average viscosity. It is fairly drinkable however it just isnt my style, the taste really doesn’t do it for me. ironchefscott (342), portland, Oregon, USA
