The aromas were molasses, celery, bubblegum, and banana.
The mouthfeel had medium carbonation. Perfect feel on the tongue.
The taste was very sweet--that bubblegum flavour, I suppose--chased by cloves (which went undetected in the aroma for me). The bitterness was all unsweetened cocoa, and there was a barely-noticeable warming from the higher alcohol content.
All in all, an excellent brew that I’m glad to have sampled. Alas, it’s not sold in my region. I’ll have to be patient to have another. hickoryparks (1), USA does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 24, 2008 Scent is nice with good color that is very cloudy. Nose of raisins, bananna, clove, some underlying citrus and caramel. Taste is strong on bananna and clove but the warmer this beer gets the more the crazy complexity comes out. Cherries, chocolate, caramel, toffee all come through. A complex, smooth, full-bodied and incredibly tasty brew. Awesome. CanIHave4Beers (862), Des Moines, Iowa, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 14, 2008 Scent is very nice, with lots of yeast and sweet coco aromas. A beautiful brown color which is very cloudy. The head is tight, very big at first but settles down a bit, the bubbles are big. There are some weird "yeast turds" in the bottom of my glass. The taste is huge & complex. There is a really great fruitiness, but at the same time there is a good creamy & chocolate flavor. Plenty of yeasty tones, virtually none of the alcohol is present in the flavor. Palate is good, creamy on the top of the tongue and sharp on the sides. A great beer, and undoubtedly the best weizenbock I have had. phildorsey (43), Fort Lewis, Washington, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 14, 2008 chocolate & basement aromas dominate the smell, dark brown color; perfect for wheat-Doppelbocks. Cloudy appearance with a long lasting tan foam, full body with a lightly bitter savory taste that tingles the palate. Overall Impression; an excellant German Weizen Bock. Absolutely would purchase again and recommend to friends MrBunn (1524), Western, Pennsylvania, USA

Aromas are wonderful... bananas, cloves, candi sugar, brown sugar, plums and the like. Dang, the flavor is spot on and this is wonderful stuff. I can’t believe I haven’t tried this before. THe banana and clove flavors come through stronger than in most of the other weizens I’ve tried, which is an interesting and nice touch. I have to say that I completely enjoyed this. dude107 (7), Chicago, Illinois, USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Bottle. Dark brown/red color. Aroma is banana, some spices, bubblegum, caramel. Tastes pretty much is the same. Compared to other darker weiss beers, the spices are a bit subtler. palate is pretty light. I find this beer exceedingly easy to drink and very satisfying. Wanderer (33), Copenhagen, Denmark
