Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

Not my cup of tea, but very interesting. Chocolates and plums and spices. Bit too fruitcake like for my liking.

Hazy pour with a deep prune color. Nose is flowers, fruit (pears, blueberry), and significant amounts of yeast. Taste is adventurously sweet and strong, but comfort is found in a familiar wheat and clove notes. Carbonation dancing on the tongue with a spritzer palate similar to brews made by Unibroue. Lingers sweet. Incredibly Satisfying. One of the best wheat beers, period.

Bottle. Pours a red/brown with a nice creamy head. The aroma is mostly dark fruit, some alcohol, malts, and some sweet caramel. The taste is really great; raisins, banana, cloves, some sweet and soft malts, a sort of bitterness combined with a great alcohol bite. Really a great mouthfeel and body. Awesome! It has that German purity that I always notice. Overall, a top beer. One of the best.

Tried this beer at the suggestion of a local beer store owner. The appearance was very nice deep brown with an off-white head. The aroma was a sweet malt, which was backed up by the taste. Mouthfeel was very good. I could not detect the alcohol at all. A very good beer.

Bottle at the White Horse, Parson’s Green, 18th Jan 08. Pours a hazy mid brown with a big, persistent white head. Great glass too. Very strong sweet aroma of vanilla and cloves. Very smooth on the tongue, with a sweet chocolatey malt taste. Overall, a lovely beer.

Very differenet. Aroma is almost exclusively banana and vanilla. Appearance is a hazy monochromatic brown with a large off-white head with excellent retention and lacing. Flavor is rich in clove and quite sweet. Goes down like syrup (in a nice way). A pretty sophisticated beer. Some of my less expirianced friends (not that I am too expirianced) said that it tasted a lot like bubblegum. Overall quite nice, but not something you could drink a lot of.

Pours a seriously dark amber with a nice big, off-white head. The aroma is pretty unique... typical weizen characteristics, big banana and clove, but with dark fruits coming through as well. The flavor is more typical weizen, but one of the better that I’ve had.... some cola in the finish. Great mix of weizen with a dark beer... highly recommended.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a dark amber with a small off-white head and a smell of yeas, grains, citrus and banana. The flavor is dominated by banana, with yeast and citrus too, mainly fresh and slightly sweet it is. The finish is slightly sweet and hoppy bitter. Very nice!
