Creamy, stable head, carbonation is very small for a weizen but matches to the beer. Smells like dry fruits, raisins. Taste is full-bodied, never had a Weizenbock with this complexity and harmony. Great stuff! pantanap (1322), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 18, 2008 bottle......pours a transparent caramel brown with very little in terms of head....aroma of dark fruit, cloves, and banana. a lot of weiss qualities.... flavors of spritzy dark fruits and again very weisslike attrbibutes. well carbonated and easily drinkable....it’s hard not to like this one although the style isn’t my favorite. 17thfloor (1402), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 17, 2008 [2002 Vintage] Murky brown pour with big bubbles and a medium foamy white head.
Chocolate aroma and some fruit and alcohol.
Tastes like a liquid tootsie-roll!. Toffee and banana flavors. Very nicely balanced. Palate is great, not too carbonated, nor too watery or sticky either. jehoey (766), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 15, 2008 Aroma:Phenolic, with spices, banana, with some cocoa, and carmel in the backround. poured brown with a small white head that quickly disipated, I poured it the same as I have poured other beers, maybe the bottle is a little old? Flavor is spicey and estery, with hints of carmel and coca, and a clean hop bitterness towards the finish. Great active mouthfeel that makes your tougue feel alive and works well with the flavor of the beer. slightly disappointed with this, but maybe I need a fresher bottle, its happend to me with other European beers too.
rcweir (119), Massachusetts, USA Jan 14, 2008 Pours dark caramel, with thin head, moderate carbonation. Spicy aroma of cloves. Rich and thick, perfectly balanced. Smooth with little hint of the alcohol level. theviolet (167), New York, New York, USA Jan 14, 2008 Tap at Blind Tiger NYC. Lots of banana in the aroma. Some alcohol hits immediately. A little too sweet of an aftertaste. Lots of depth though, I really like it.
