Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

bottle 500ml from Alko EXP 07.04.10 hazy dark brown small creamy head ring. I tasted this first time around 12 years ago and rated it high on my notes. Lovely kick of banana, yeast , spices dash of chocolate totally full body. Pleasant long lasting aftertaste with kicking phennols. This is perfect night cap after hard day.

(16.9oz bottle) Pours a dark mahogany that lets light through in a ruby color with light tan head that’s is voluminous and stays around. Lacing on the glass is superb. Nose has clove, spicy cinnamon, ripe banana, and sweet bready yeast. The taste is also very ripe bananas on the back end, but on the front it’s slightly chocolaty, clove-like spiciness, coats the mouth with sweetness and velvety carbonation. Body is just perfect, not too thick and not watery by any stretch. It’s also quite creamy which most beers fail to achieve. This beer doesn’t do any single aspect wrong. It looks, smells, and tastes fantastic. I always love drinking this beer. Maybe the best dopplebock I’ve had.

hazy brown pour. frothy offwhite head. banana, clove, cinnamon in the aroma. a bit yeasty. Mouthfeel is silky, delicious, sticky maltiness with complimenting fruits and a bit of alcohol. truly one of the greats of the style

Much anticipated. Pours a near black-brown, with brown froathy head. Aromas of sweet-sour yeast, chocolate covered bananas with some spiciness. Flavors are off the charts: Chocolate up front with nutty malt, light toffee, dark dried fruits(raisin/sour plums), alcohol, some caramel. Very sweet, sticky, chewy, strong alcohol, full bodied-everything about this beer is over the top.

Bottle at ABC beer tasting. Poured a dark amber with orange tint and a frothy white head. Aroma consisted of fruits and a caramel like aroma, perhaps a bit of chocolate. Flavor started a bit dark but leads to a sweeter lighter wheat finish.
