Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

This brew poured a nice dark brown pour with a very lively medium head full of medium sized bubbles. It has a very mild cloven aroma. The body contained some yeast residue floating in it. It's taste leaves a lasting impression on your tongue as it goes down. It has a very nice taste with a hint of raisin and at the top of my list, but not the very top. After a few drinks, the alcohol content really comes through. Re-Rate 1/31/2003 was 8-4-8-4-16 this rating 7-5-8-5-17 bumped palate up to compenate. This bottle was aged 3 years prior to opening by the manufacturer. It came in a specially wrapped paper wrapped to distinguish it from the unaged brews. The wrapper had Aventinus brewed in 1999 on it in purple letters with a light yellow background. It poured a very large head of mostly diminishing light brown colroed finely sized bubbles. The body was very carbonated transparent and dark brown in color. The aroma was sweet with caramel malt notes and the mouth feel was bubbly tingly and vinuous yet smooth. Very nice indeed! The flavor was that of caramel malt mild clove and mild dark chocolate.

Bottle. What a Weizen Bock, wow can’t wait to sink my teeth into this one again. Head was large and light frothy. Color was brown with clear sparkling body. Aroma was really nice and complex with notes of toffee, banana, wheat, fruit, caramel, grain. Full boded with a average carbonation. Texture has some dryness and light alcohol. Flavor was mostly sweet, but light notes of bitterness are also present. Nice sweet finish. Top of the class so far, excellent experience.

Dark, dark brown with a shiny red patena and a steady head. Yeasty aroma. Elegantly smooth and lightly sweet. Vaguely yeast-based, with molasses character. Sweetness grows as you go. Very good.

Muddy brown with white head. Nutty caramel malts overall - quite simple - but extremely nice. Filling body. Light sweet. In a way unique. Deep malty & hints of yeast.

(Bottled, at least 3rd re-rate) Dark murky brown/amber color with a large, tight head. Sweet, malty aroma with wheaty banana and chocolate. Flavor is sweet and sour with citric acid, yeast and hints of banana, chocolate and a hint of alcohol. Long, bitter, witbier-spicy, sour and carbonated finish. Quite carbonated, bitter and oily palate. Hides the ABV very well. This is a beer that can be enjoyed all year round. An excellent, full-flavored and warming weizen. It’s unbelievable just how spicy and peppery flavor you can accomplish with only the basic ingredients allowed by the German Reinheitsgebot! So easy to forget (you can get it from the Finnish monopoly liquour stores), yet so pleasant and enjoyable... Ahhhh...

Poured a dark amber color with a lively light tan head. Sweet, spicy, malty aroma. Alcohol and clove are also noticeable. Initial sour taste, followed by caramel maltiness. Slight wheat/witbeer characteristics as well.
