Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

1pint bottle. pours mahogony with small off white head. a real nice color. nose is pretty strange, lots of clove with undertones of mint. flavor has some strange sweet dark fruits with mint and cloves, some biscuit, plums, and stale flavor too. body is pretty weak and carbination is fizzy. no alcohol noticed. i’ll have to re-rate this someday cuz this seems pretty overrated to me.

(Bottle). Theoretically I might encounter a better Weizen than this one, but I doubt very much that will ever happen. Murky brown colour, large head, aroma of Paradise: Cloves and other undefinable spices, dried fruits (figs), oak and sandalwood. Oaky cloves flavour with hints of burnt caramel. Alcohol is present, but not overwhelmingly so. Dry aftertaste. This is a thoroughly well made beer! (Thanks, joss!)

Poured beautiful dark brown with a rich fluffly head just like the picture...smells of clove, banana, and caramel. Rich and complex flavor...malty, earthy, yeasty...very burgundy type finish...one of my favorite beers ever...

This beer has a very nice, complex aroma when poured. It’s nice frothy head dies down quickly. It’s dark amber in color w/ a flavor of cloves w/ hints of banana. It’s a nice beer, but for my taste, it’s nothing too exciting. At $3US a bottle, I won’t get it again, not that it’s bad tasting, it doesn’t justify the cost for me.

First German beer in a while. Poured a dark ruby-brown; Aroma is of bubblegum-yeast, clove, pit/dark fruit. Flavor; really light on the palate; wheat-bubblegum, malt, spice. Light after taste. Didn’t pick up a sour impression at the end. Was really flavorful and easy drinking; normally don’t go hand and hand with me.

THis is what I am talking about, was a Heffeweizen, but not only that, it had this Bock flavor too, my two favorite beers, plus Lambic, combined in one.

I am tasting this with a friend side by side with the Flying Dog Wild Dog Weizenbock... The Aventinus Weizen Bock is a murky chocolate brown color. Mild carbonation with a huge foamy light head that dissapates quickly. Lively carbonation. Aroma is wheat, clove, plum, and banana nut. Flavor similar to the aroma - banana nut, alcohol, and lots of fruit. There is a lot of alcohol to this one - I can feel it evaporating through my nostils! The mouthfeel is medium to full, but strangely fizzy. Overall the aroma is much fruitier; the flavor is more wheaty, and the alcohol is much more pronounced than the Flying Dog Weizenbock. I hate say it, but I think that the Flying Dog Wild Dog Weizenbock is more complex and better all around. 500 mL bottle, $3.69 from Jungle Jims (brought by Terry).

The beer is very dark with a beautiful colour. The experience is total when you drink it. The smell, the taste eg. is so wonderful! Bitter and light at the same time!
