Reddish brown with a large head and good lacing. Aroma banana, wheat, caramel, chocolate, cloves... more. Very complex aroma and the flavor is better. Fairly sweet finish, but not overly so. Very good balance here. For a non extreme (triple imperial barrel aged whatever) beer, this one is kick ass. tronraner (1933), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 18, 2005 Bottle. Pours a nice, dark, burnt-orange with a large, bubbly, white head. Aromas of prunes, cloves, fruitbasket, and a bit of yeast. Good doppelbock density and feel. Flavors of cloves, other autumnal spices, and bitter fruits, with a rich, spicy finish. There is ust a little bit of alcohol burn if I take a large enough sip. As the aftertaste fades, it reminds me of orange seeds. AmEricanbrew (1929), orange, California, USA

I dont like wheat beers but I guess a Weizen Bock is different. Higher alcohol content but I can hardly taste it. Aroma is of bananas but I dont taste them in the beer, thank god! Taste is very much like grapes with a hint of wheat, to me its similar to a red wine but maybe that's just me. It has a very creamy mouthfeel. This was a good choice and Im glad I gave it a shot. Try one if you havent! DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 12, 2005 Bottle from Asda. Sweet, slightly chocolate-y brew. Pours brown, with a nice head. First off I didn’t quite get this one - it just seemed like a sweet, heady beer, with a warming finish. However as I drank, I got the excellent balance, enticing sippability and smoothness. I’m not massive on big sweet beers (give me hop instead please), but I did like this. swoopjones (1919), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 5, 2007 On tap @ Coles Buffalo NY. Beautiful dark reddish brown ib color with two finger head. Dried fruits, spices, bananas, cloves. too many tastes to acknowledge. Besides Victory Moonglow its the only of this style that I’ve encountered & this reigns supreme Kevin (1918), Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 9, 2004 An angry head on this thing. pours a cratering head that disapates relatively quickly. pours a cloudy dark brown. head is off white. berry aroma is noticeable while pouring. sweet banana strawberry taste.also has more complex and subtle flavors of caramel and malt. finish is wheaty but maintains a sweetness. very refreshing, and i can feel the warmth from the 8% already. There are so many different things going on in this beer, it has me intrigued. this has some qualities i associate with some of the abbott ales i tried, but not overly so. a wonderfully enjoyable brew. mar (1916), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 18, 2007 very nice amber, ruby color with a great head on the pour. very sweet malty smell along with some notes of dried fruit mainly apricot. very thin on the palate considering the color and the fruit really stands out over anything else.
