Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

I once wrote that even if you don’t like the style, you should be able to appreciate a good example of it. I was wrong. This is a 99 %ile beer and left me unimpressed. Dark brown with fleeting tan head. Some sweetness to the nose. Medium body. Unremarkable flavor. Sorry, WheatBeerians, this did nothing for me.

Yum. This one’s been rocking my world lately, a super good example of the style, with all the crisp yeasty goodness of a classic weiss alongside the malty fullness of a fine German bock. Handsome looking, with a rich buy body and a decent head, with a big kick up front and a long fruity finish. Very fine.

Brown, hazy color. Huge, fluffy head. Estery banana-aroma. Thick, smooth mouth-feel.Sweet, malty Toffee-flavor.The alcohol shows up in the finish, but in a pleasant way. I kept drinking it in small sips to make it last.

Pours dark brown with a beige head. No lacings. Sweet and a light bitterness. Aromas of caramel malts, prunes, figs, clover and raisins. Medium to full bodied. Bitter finish with a bit of warming alcohol.

One of those beers I’ve had a ton of times but never got around to rating. RUby/mahogany body, tons of visible carbonation, fluffy white head forms a bit of a crown in my schneider glass. Nose is clove & banana, bubblegum, grapes, some spice I can’t determine, fruits. Flavor is banana, toffee, yeast, nice malt, dark fruits, perfect bitterness. Sweet yeasty clov finish w. fruit. Stunning.

Dark amber of color with a nice off white head. An aroma of wheat, fruits and yeast. A flavor of wheat, caramel and sweet fruits.

Dark brown body with an initially big, fizzy, off-white head. The aroma is banana, wheat and cloves. The flavor is wheat, caramel, toffee, cinnamon and apples. The finish is long, slightly bitter and a bit tart as well. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with lively carbonation that bites the tongue. Impressive.

Apperance: Hazy brown. It poured with a big frothy head, but it quickly faded. Aroma: Mostly the peppery/clovey phenols typical of German Hefes. A hint of some bock-like charactor. Some alcohol. Flavor: Again with the clove. Some banana. Again typical of Hefes. Wheaty. Rasins of prunes. Alcoholic as it warms a bit. Really good. Palate: Quite full bodied. Velvety smooth. Fairly high carbonation. Alcohol warming near the end. Overall: Man. If you keep these too cold, you could easily drink 2 or 3 of these monsters and end up on your face. The classic example of the style. Outstanding.
