Tons of carbonation in a couldy brown body. Brown sugar, cloves in the aroma. The start of the flavor features wheat bread, brown sugar, and deep sweet malt. Finishes with maple leaf bitterness, butter, and plummy malt. Soft and supple mouthfeel from generous carbonation, but it's not harsh. A flavorful but smooth and gentle beer.
1999 brew Short-lived, fizzy head. Very carbonated. I get a plum and yeast taste with a lot of sweetness. Dunno if this one was too old, but I really didn't enjoy it. 5 / 2 / 5 / 3/ 9 ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

However, at 2nd whiff, I clearly smell bananas and wheat like a typical weissbier. I don’t detect any clove, however. Wonderful, murky, dark reddish, orange body with a huge, off-white, almost light tan head. Head dissapates quickly but leaves a thin layer of head on top. Flavor is outstanding. This is what a weissbier should be. The alcohol is well hidden, but it very well accentuates the flavor in this brew. The alcohol definitely hits you as you make your way through the 500 ml bottle. Sweet, banana, molasses sugar. After having stellar Schneider brews in the Aventinus, the Aventinus Weizen Eisbock, and the weissbier, I now hold the brewery in as high a regard as Weihenstephaner. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA

It’s aroma is complex with citrus, banana and yeast. Despite it’s high alcohol, it’s firm, clean, crisp and drinkable with strong weisse beer flavor chock full of yeast, tang, and citrus, with alcohol and malt hues. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 4, 2003 Huge lasting tan head. Murky brown body (not clear like in the picture). Aroma of wheat, clove, chocolate and caramel. Flavour is intense dominated by wheat but I also notice a strong banana presence. Finish is extremely smooth and leaves a nice coating of flavour in the mouth; of course until you take another gulp. A beauty and perhaps legend. daniele (1701), Italy
