Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

From a 500 ml bottle this poured a rich and attractive red to brown color with a fat off-white head the lasted a long time and left good lacing rings as it slowly settled. Nose of flowers, fruits like raisins and a hint of banana. Smooth mouthfeel and and great flavors that mirror the nose with a hint of spices. Slightly sweet caramel finish. Superb brew.

poured out with a really large head.(over half glass.)then began to simmer down, and get a bit lumpy.dark amber in color, with an aroma that reminds me of a belgian brew. wow!this has a very complex flavor to it.hints of spice, hops, and a bit of a "bite" thats hard to explain.maybe a bit ot much bite, but besides that....its awsome!

How is it that I’ve managed to log in nearly a thousand reviews and miss this beer? I’ve had this a dozen times or more, and for some reason I just checked and haven’t reviewed it. So to fix that oversight, I’ve popped the cap on a bottle and plan to review. The nose on this beer is really, really insane. There are complexities everywhere. I could pick up notes of overripe bananas, toffee, milk chocolate, raisins, caramel and the wheat notes. Appearance is clear with a reddish brown hue, almost diet cola in color with a nice off-white head. Flavors are equally solid as the nose and combine damn near in perfect harmony. Sweet malts, banana, dark overripe fruit, toffee, caramel with a subtle bite of alcohol to remind you that it’s an 8% beer. Excellent beer. I highly recommend you getting one wherever you can.

Bottle. Pours a red/brown with a nice creamy head. The aroma is mostly dark fruit, some alcohol, malts, and some sweet caramel. The taste is really great; raisins, banana, cloves, some sweet and soft malts, a sort of bitterness combined with a great alcohol bite. Really a great mouthfeel and body. Awesome! It has that German purity that I always notice. Overall, a top beer. One of the best.

Hazy brown color with very large head. Sweet aroma that has the usual W-Bock fruit and candy, but with some fresh bread scents added in. Taste is a pleasantly sweet grain-fruit mix, with elements of banana bread and sweet pastries. Nice, lasting finish. Very good - no wonder it IS the style.

Not a bad WB at all, but I thought it was a little too sweet at times. Dark brown body, nice thick and fluffy head. Aromas of fruit and mild malt. Tastes of fruit, but for some reason it tastes too sweet? Not too bad, but could be less sweet.
