Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

On tap at the Acadia Cafe. Hazy mahagony with a hint of orange glow. Clove and banana wheat and yeast aroma, with citrus candy. Taste brings elements of brown sugar and clove to infuse a dark, bready body. Simple and substantial. Finishes subtley citrusy and sour, dry and nutty with indefinite length. Entirely lovely.

Deep red color with a fairly thin head. Very fruity aroma. Bananas, caramel, pear. Definitely mouth watering. Definitely taste cloves in the flavor with plenty of cooked banana. Sweet but not to sweet. Slightly more citrusy than a doppel bock. Very enjoyable. I had never tried this style before but I’m very impressed with this one, I would like to try some more.

Clear mahoganey pour. Fizzy/frothy light tan head. Aroma has prune juiced banana and slightly toasted wheat that is lightly graced by German hops. A little fizzy, but that is forgotten by the sweet, but not too sweet, prunes, banana, spices. Really good, balanced, flavorful beer.

On tap, pours a beautiful caramel brown shade, malty sweet nose and flavor, along with some caramel. Very clean finish. Awesome beer.

RE-RATE: Nice sweet-toffee and banana flavoring, with hints of other neutral fruit: apple, pear. ORIGINAL RATING 4/14/2002: 7-4-7-3-14: Very distinctive banana aroma and flavor. Medium bodied, nicely balanced.

Amber colour, medium white head. Aroma has yeast, malts and some spices. Flavour is spicey and of dark fruits. Complex beer.
