Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

On tap and in Aventinus glass (what a bar). Cloudy dark brown with large lasting heading. Aroma of dark/dried fruits and banana both of which carry into the flavor. Finishes with a light warming.

Sampled at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a semi-hazed dark brown amber brew with a thick off-white head that has good retuention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, some cloves and coriander, brown sugar and a touch of iced tea. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of yeast, sweet caramel malt and cloves. Finish is semi-sweet, smooth and a yeasty and alcohol aftertaste. Cool glassware!

500mL bottle. Pours a deep, hazy ruby/amber with a medium layer of beige head. Wonderful aroma of fresh bananas, cloves, and wheat, with a caramelly sweetness and some cooked brown sugar underneath. All of the aroma components make it into the flavor. Flavor also picked up some floral hops, which gave the brew some bitterness and helped carry the flavors across the palate. Cloves and hops meshed to produce a bitter and somewhat sour note to the finish. Most excellent brew!

Bottle (500ml) - in tulip glass. Poured a deep, dark, murky, lively amber-brown - tons of creamy-frothy long-lasting off-white head; combined with the humidity-driven condensation, an entirely appetizing sight. Many aroma notes - sour wine & bread doughy yeast dominated at first, then sweet malt, spices (cloves & coriander), malt vinegar and peppercorns. Mouthfeel quite acidic, sweet and fizzy - but it worked. Flavour strongly of sweet malt, cloves and sourish wine, then steeped fruits - prune & raisin - noticeable alcohol, and a welcome dry hop finish at the end to keep it from being too sweet. Overall a challenging, quenching drink - lovely to look at, smell and taste, but loses a mark for a little too much acidity. The sourness is just right to off-set the sweetness. I’ll have this on hand all the time.

liquid bubble gum without the sugar. A substitute for people who drink white sweet wines but do not care for beer taste. All you taste is the fruit flaroured bubble gum, not beer nor alcohol. Colour included. Also banana, cloves, nutmeg, some wheat.

I was lucky to have this beer yesterday in original Schneider glass hey. The head was so great and thick and bubbly. Lasted for years’. It had all the great wheat qualities, that aroma that makes you ummm . You drink this and you know that it can’t get much better than that. Highly Recommended.

Dark brown color. Large creamy head. Malty spicy aroma with a touch of banana and clove. WOW. Big, bold beer.Banana and cloves moves to raisins, fruit, chocolate and citrus. Taste really grabs at you. Which is NOT a bad thing. Warming taste. Alcohol is evident, but not overpowering. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. NICE beer.

Re-rate Massive head on this one. Sweet. I think this bottle might not have been the freshest as the flavour was a bit muted but still quite good. Raised my Aroma, Flavour and overall 1 point each. First rating - Got a bit of a kick to it! Bit of an alcohol bite to it but it's nice. Sweet with touch of cloves. Similar to Schneider Weisse but sweeter and stronger.
