Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

The beer is very dark with a beautiful colour. The experience is total when you drink it. The smell, the taste eg. is so wonderful! Bitter and light at the same time!

God this is good stuff. Full of cloves, bruised fruit, raisins, chocolate, with a slight saltiness, and that grainy, creamy Bavarian texture. If I wore aftershave I’d want it to smell like Aventinus - I guess that could be arranged pretty easily if I could hold myself back from drinking the stuff.

This is a very good beer. Somewhat sweeter than I expected but very drinkable. I will be coming back to this again.

One of the world’s best brews. Very complex for a German beer. Highly recommended.

One of my favorites.Very complex for a wheat beer with hints of anis and dried raisins.Does not have a heavy alcohol taste destite having an 8% rate which is a good indication that this is indeed a high-quality beer.Appearance is great with chmpagne -like bubbles. You can leave it there for a couple of hours but the taste still remains. Also very malty but not heavy. After one,you will be begging for more.

Re-rate: Over the past six weeks after my first sip of Aventinus, this has become one of if not the best beer I’ve had yet. The rich full bodied malty taste is just great. First rate-Started my day on an empty stomach and a Coopers Best Extra Stout, a dangerous combo! Now, one hour and lunch later I will pop the top of this....great color, like an opaque Anchor Steam, nice malty spicey aroma, wow, what a great taste, I am impressed with the complexity and balance. I had a Schneider Weisse last night, this beats it hands down. Worth every penny and then some.

Dark reddish brown, like strong cloudy tea. Easy head had fairly large, soda-like bubbles form the head, but without the fizziness. As for taste, it's got the same strong esteriness of the Schneider weisse with the richer slight caramelly taste from the darker malts. Finishes with cloves. Tasty.

This phenomenal beer comes with a frothy white head over a deep brown body with reddish, almost purplish, tinges. The aroma is full of banana esthers, and it sits in the mouth with a creamy feel. The flavor is fantastic, combining all the positives of a hefeweizen with an understated but balancing level of malt. Magnificent.
