The aroma is full of banana esthers, and it sits in the mouth with a creamy feel. The flavor is fantastic, combining all the positives of a hefeweizen with an understated but balancing level of malt. Magnificent. SJP (483), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jul 9, 2002 This might just be the greatest beer I’ve had yet. A wonderful fruit flavor, with hints of raisins, cloves, and I think caramel. A very nice wheat taste as well for an all around excellent beer. Track this one down and drink heavily. beerbastard (98), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Apr 17, 2003 This is Great beer. The alcohol is the first thing I noticed in the nose, then comes the bubblegum estery aroma. It pours redish brown with a short lived head. Very rich and smooth, not too sweet (or cloying), very warming with that wonderful Barvarian yeast flavor. Well balanced. I can just about chew this beer. Weizenbocks just don't get any better than this. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Oct 4, 2003 Poured a cloudy dark brown with a thick, white head. Sweet aroma. tates similar to Trappist dubbel, raisiny and wheaty. A bit more sweetness in the aftertaste, with a hint of alcohol warmth. Syrupy on the palate with a nice light carbonated feel. Excellent beer, very complex. 5000 (2600), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | May 4, 2004 Bottle pours murky reddish brown, milky off-white head, light lacing, with numerous streams of bubbles eminating from the depths. Wheat malts, cloves, and banana on the nose. Forwardly wheaty, with hints of the aformentioned cloves and bananas. Wonderful mouthfeel, full bodied, a bit too much on the carbonation side but its overlookable. Solid flavor throughout, from beginning to finish. I don’t think I could say enough about this beer other than its my absolute undeniable favorite Weizen Bock, and overall one of my favorites of all styles. This is a must try!

Lighter and sweeter, it tastes almost like an apple cider feel to it. Lots of cloves and caramel. Overall, one of the best beers ever. Zeswaft (1000), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 29, 2006 Updated: Aug 11, 2007My biggest complaint about this beer is that it (the bottle) looks cheap and like every other poorly rated european beer. That aside it’s a pretty good beer. Has a sweet malty character and a little bit of that bubblegum flavor. Due to lack of clean glassware I drank it from the bottle but it looks great in that picture. Alcohol is well hidden. Cheap, too. <$3 for 500ml
rerate. I was too imature when i first drank this to really appreciate it. Lately I’ve been on a dunkleweizen and weizen bock kick. I decided to revisit this. This is awesome. Lots of esters with a silky texture and some sweet kind of chocolately notes. not as good as ramstein winter wheat but close. further rerate. i had this on tap a month or so ago, and I’m drinking a bottle now. it was phenomenal, very lush, from the bottle is totally delicious too. when you factor everything, price, flavor, alcohol content, availability, this might be the best beer ever. monkeycmdr (18), Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 12, 2004 The most striking aspects of this beer are the color and the nose...the color is a dark caramel which is quite unique, and the aroma smells of banana, light spices and cinnamon. The taste is very complex, but overall tastes much like it smells. A great beer from start to finish, and a great kick as well. One of my three favorite beers, and I don't even usually like this style.
