Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Poured a dark, cloudy to murky brown. Two inch, stable off-white head. Aroma is banana and cloves with a hint of bubble gum. The taste is quite different from the aroma. Slight alcohol, malty, sweet and spicey, with a slightly bitter finish. Full bodied, smooth, nicely carbonated. Top quality.

One of the all-time favourites. Very complex and really fresh. Beware of the alcohol, though ;-)

An excellent offering by Aventus, easily the best bocks I have ever had. The balance of sweetness and dopplebock flavoring was uncanny. Delightful on the palate, grapes and smooth malt taste throughout. Transition also provides an excellent treat, with just the right amount of flavor lingering. I found myself drinking this one way faster then I would have liked to, but I could not resist. This was that damn good! An amazing choice.

BeerBlockaid twisted my arm to try this one. I am always suspicious of anything ’bock’. I have had too many run-ins with Sam Adams type bocks that make me sick and spoil my taste for beer for weeks... But here goes.. Pours a beautiful ruby brown, with a creamy head which disappears completely after a while. Lovely sweet fruit and malt aroma. And the taste... Oh My God, this is delicious! I was not prepared for just how good this stuff really is.. What a brew to stumble into! Sweet plums, fig, old orange, malt, caramel, light spices, banana.. very complex and wonderful. Thick, smooth mouthfeel. Warming alcohol on the way down, and a pretty good kick, too! This is superb! It may turn into a race between me and Beerblockaid to get back to the bottle shop to clean them out of this. You’re wasting time if you haven’t yet tried this awesome beer.

Bottle. Pours dark with foamy admirable head. Wheat and grassy aroma. Stiff taste, sedate bubble. This is a mature beer without all the needless bells and whistles (ie. not overspiced). Its German pure! Light for a bock in body, not in alcohol. Another German standard showing how a beer style should be done!

Very different from any beer that I have tasted before. It has a very distinctive clove flavor. Really enjoyed it with Gruyere cheese.

What a magnificent brew. Unique to itself, never had anything quite like it as far as flavor balance goes. Clove, ginger, and more clove. Pours just like the pic here, dark deep amber. Aroma is cloves, malts. Flavor is cloves, malts, ginger bites, some deep sweets, but hoppy finish. Mouthfeel was perfect for a brew like this. Recommended for all.

A recent addition in Georgia with the higher alcohol laws. Such a nice balance of malt, hops, and clove like spice from the wheat. Well carbonated, which helps bring out the various flavors of this beer. One of my favorites.
