Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

Bouteille.

500 ml bottle in weizen glass. Cloudy reddish brown with lasting soft head and lace. Strong banana bubblegum and clove aroma. Richy fruity flavor with mild caramel and tangy bready wheat finish. Medium-full body and creamy texture. Definitely a classic. Awesome. I’ve had this many times, including at the taphouse just off the Marienplatz. I’m glad I didn’t rate the grungy bottom-of-keg pour that I had last month at BT.

Gorgeous color, dark brown core blends into copper towards the edge. Head was as dense as shaving cream. Aroma is very full of alcohol, slightly sweet. The feel is very smooth, the alcohol is well hidden, not at all what I expected when it was so prevalent in the aroma, very well hiden. Starts off very sweet on the tip of the tongue, and progresses into a nice full wheaty flavor, bitterness comes out in the end. The progression of flavor is wonderful, realy a joy to let it sit on your tongue and experience all that it has to offer. A new one of my favorites.

Deep caramel brown with reddish tint. Flavor of fruit with a strong wheaty aftertaste. Creamy and light despite the dark color. Too many of these would be a good way to die.

Had side by side with the Eisbock... slightly lighter in color than the Eis. Aroma is clove and dusty/champagne with fruit esters and bubblegum. Flavor is strangely inviting, like a deep hefe with hints of Belgian Ale... YUM!

Dark amber with much head. It’s a weizen bock and so much more. Complex array of flavors, especially toffee, fruit, and spice. Bitter and sweet at the same time. Epic drinking experience as far as I’m concerned.

The first time I tried this beer on tap, I was blown away. Never have I had a beer that was such a pleasure to enjoy. Flavor contains a rich fruitiness that would best be described as a combination of raisins and well ripened apples. Initially very complex, giving way to fruit flavors, followed by just the lightest tangy bitterness. Just a hint of sourness. Aroma is strongly clove like with a hint of apple cider, and chocolate. Mouth feel is well carbonated and complex - makes you want to hold it in your mouth to enjoy all the flavors before swallowing, but a little bit thick. Taste is an explosion of well balanced flavors, I’m getting a bit of ripe cherry, apples, raisins and caramel. Highly recommended. Can be purchased at CT Beverage Mart in Newington, CT, also available in bottles at The Half Door in West Hartford, CT. First tried it as it was rotated on tap at Eli Cannons in Middletown, CT. Well worth the $3.50 for a bottle as you won’t be disappointed. The beer changes flavors and characteristics throughout the whole drinking experience. Color is a rich Amber brown giving way to a reddish cloudy brown under light. Because it’s bottle fermented, some solid particles floating around are normal. Pours a nice thick head with good lacing. One finely crafted brew with well balanced complexity that raised the bar for all other beers I’ve had.
