Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

Pours dark cloudy amber brown. Aroma of fruits, banana caramel, and bread. Flavor of figs and wheat. Very complex and delicious. Alcohol well hidden. Excellent beer!

wow what a great beer whether on tap or from a bottle this beer is up front , it is amazing because I am not into fruit or chocolate notes in my beer but this has a definate banana and chocolate taste but by the time you have swallowed the taste is gone and you actually need and want more and more,,, wow enough anyway you can get your hands on it

Appearance - Pours a dark reddish brown. Big rocky head. Smell - Aroma is sweet brown sugar and carrots, Whole grain Bread, Dark fruit esters. Not much detectable Alchohol. Taste - Bannanas, clove, and grains were at the front flavor. Low alchohol taste and pretty complex. Mouthfeel - Moderatly dry. Long lasting finish. Pretty heavy. Drinkability - Totally drinkable for the gravity and alchohol content. Very sneaky beer.

Dark and majestic appearance, almost violet color (perhaps my notion is influenced by the nice label). Pours a terrific head. A very complex nose with hints of banana. Flavor is enormous with all sorts of "gadgets", full-bodied and strong, this is a truly great beer. Ein Prosit!

The aroma is gorgeous, spicy and fruity with a hint of port wine. Pours a deep chocolate brown with a pillowy white head. Flavor tastes of berries, spices, port wine, and chocolate with a hint of caramel. Absolutely amazing and worth the purchase. Update (3/26/09): Recently had again. The complexities of this beer are overwhelming but the accessibility makes it truly quaffable. Amazing beer.

A wonderus brew. pours a strange brown slightly hued purple. Thick headed beer that allows for every sip to come through a cloud of bubbles. The smell had the typical yeast but also contains a ginger/clove smell. The taste is clean and refreshing. Slight sweetness made a friend who i shared this bottle with say it was "root beer" like. But most spectacular is the palate with a superb carbination that seems to make the flavor envelope the entire tongue.
