Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

Aventinus is unlike anything I’ve ever tried before. From it’s huge aroma of banana, citrus, chocolate and clove to it’s amazing smoothness, this beer is deserving of very high marks. How can you not love this beer???

Pours a hazy ruby-brown with a big, creamy off-white head that retreats fairly quickly. Dark, rich aroma of malt, banana, spice and toasted raisin bread. Creamy mouthfeel, and flavours of caramel, malt, banana, clove and a hint of chocolate. A definate favourite of mine, and I'm glad the supply in Ontario is cheap and plentiful!

Beautiful nose, beautiful pour, fantastic head (don’t......stop; don’t..stop; don’t stop)taste reminds me of banana’s & honeycomb on wheat toast, alcohol sensation delightful (oh!yes). Re-rate: taste like honeysuckle and smells like the 60’s: a real ray of sunshine

A top ten beer of all time for me. Full of rich fruits and spice, balanced, and absolutely divine.

A murky deep red with a thick, creamy head reveals aromas of clove and spice. Yeast truly is a magical beast. The flavor follows with a tingle of carbonation, then a distinctive spicy, almost cherry-like flavor that is devoid of the thick, syrupy sweetnes that detracts from so many American beers of 8% alcohol. A great beer and a classic of this style.

Dark and hazy with a foamy tannish head. Reminds me of a dunkel in aroma: fresh baked banana bread. Tastewise it’s something else. Sweet at first sip but not sticky: raisins and cherries, spices. Warms up nicely on the palate. Faint medicinal quality to the finish but otherwise very satisfying. A fantastic beer that keeps me coming back for more.

This is my first Weizenbock, having focused on Belgian brews for some time now, I decided to expand to German ales. Poured an evervescent red-brown with a foamy white head that dissipated slowly. Smell was a wine-like plum and banana. Taste... Hey! It’s like that one I used to have at Gordon Biersch! Dark fruits, malts, bit of spice and banana, so chocolate creeping in. Has a surprisely light mouthfeel, which was unusual yet appreciated and the high ABV is so well hidden it is quaffable (although you’ll want most of it to land in your mouth so it is not a true quaff). This beer is also very refreshing and drinkable, especially on a hot summer night... I like this a lot.
