Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

certainly one of the best beers have ever had! poured a opaque brown color with a foamy slightly off white head. head shrunk down to a quater of an inch and the rest stood there! Aroma was sweet caramel and bread. The flavor was initally sweet but finished with a mix of wheat and cloves. The taste of cloves was very mild though, but where present.

Wow! Did i mention...Wow?? One of my favorite beers. Nice Belgian wheat smell with a great bock flavor. Reddish merlot color. Lingering maltiness and very sweet. One of the best.

When I write my own "great beers" book, this one is going to be in there. Huge head. Complex, multi-layered nose of caramel, clove-like spices and fruit. Equally complex taste, with the fruit showing up a little more, but balanced by the malts. More than enough alcohol to warm you up. Excellent.

Bottled at Microbar, Battersea. A big thick, white head and dark golden brown colour. Banana and toffee in the aroma, some clove. A nice rich beer, slightly sweet. Couldn’t guess it was 8%.

Poured into a genuine Aventinus glass, the actively bubbly, beige head fills that big bubble that makes up the top half of the glass, softly crumbling down. Color, Clear, deep amber, high carbonation. Aroma: yeasty, spicey, cloves and bread, delicate and dreamy, soft and creamy. Rich, fruity taste, figs dance on the tongue, apples, white grapes, raisins, generous, arousing texture. This is perfect pleasure, the mouthfeel is gracious and the sweet, bright grapiness provides constant delight. There's a brief sourness, but it matches well with the flavor profile. Long finish, full bodied, ...a beautiful, beautiful brew.

My second-favorite beer of all time, second only to Chimay Blue. Very complex, with a spicy aroma that's hard to beat. Clove, licorice, apple, pear, orange peel, malt, toffee, and all that's wonderful. I don't know where they hid the hops. Pours a lovely dark amber/brown. Cloudy but lovely. Big bubbled head that goes to a small bead. Fantastic brew. Yeast makes this one incredible. If I could change anything I'd add a bit more body, but it's still a FINE beer.
