I tried it after seeing it mentioned on here and only have good things to say about it. Only thing I do not like is the clove taste I get when I first start a bottle. After that its all good!
Had to re-rate because I keep buying the stuff and loving it more... Suttree (2732), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Old rating: Cloudy, brown, with a mid sized soapy head. Bursting aromas of banana, clove, wheat, and lemon zest.Palate is soft but barely lacking.Might be because it is too cold.Flavors also clovey, bananas, sweet and thick malts.Finish is very yeasty(bubblegum)flavored.Too cold to start with but got much better as it warmed.I hate buying beer cold. loweredsixth (942), Fresno, California, USA

The aroma was very sweet...full of banana/clove (I actually confuse those two often), subtle alcohol, some wood tones. The flavor was very sweet...clove, bubblegum, banana, alcohol (well hidden), and at times I got some great vanilla chocolate flavors. The feel was soft, bubbly, very smooth. Fantastic beer. OVERRATED.
Smells of clove and yeast. Not terribly sweet/almost slightly crips aroma. Mountain of off-white head, that lasts. The picture on the left isnt exaggerating. Muddled brown with some dirt colored browns and grays and of course a little gold peeking through. Completely clouded over by the sentiment.
This beer was challenging from the start. Very sharp spicey tones attack the palette. The carbonation is already too much from the outset. It settles a bit in the middle and a full, if somewhat wet, body arises. The clove and banana are in full effect, and I certainly detect bubble gum esters. There is some caramel malt present but it is small and watery. They should do like Spaten and add some roasted malt. Alcohol is quite present and lingers long on the finish, with a slow, sweet burn. As the carbonation dies away (somewhat, and after a long while) I am able to detect the chocolate it talks about on the label, yet it is hardly perceptible. This beer is mostly banana and clove and is too unbalanced (complexity is masked by too much banana/clove/bubble gum sweetness). I enjoyed the finish and aftertaste the most (probably due to the lack of the carbonation). There was a complex mix of wheat, yeast and malt. However, beers need to be more than a pleasant aftertaste. This one needs some work. Would benefit from cellaring, and eating a hearty meal while drinking it. 2000 wrapped bottle. consumed Jan 03. Well this should be illegal. holy S**t this is unreal! SOOOOOOOOO good. It’s like a whole new beer. palate is near perfect, flavor as well, minus a touch of wateriness on the finish. daalamar (403), bardstown, Kentucky, USA

Beautiful murky brown with a touch of orange hue, Good off-white head that dissapates into a ring around the edge. Aroma was spicy but mellow with charecters of fall harvest fruits, and bananas that have sat on the counter for a week. Flavor is smooth and flows amazingly well across the palate, starting off with the banana, or mabe even a sweet squash. spices of clove or possibly nutmeg, warminng in the ending with just enough hop to round everything out. an absolute must try for all beer lovers. RE-RATE 2/05/03 After drinking this beer regularly now for a month or so and consuming well over a case I have to give this beer a few extra points. Every bottle has been supurb. I geat a huge head every time even when I accidently chill it too long and it's ice cold. Flavors continue to intrigue me. I have noticed that the clove becomes more apparent in the finish when allowed to warm to around room temp. A great beer. madsberg (4966), Søborg, Denmark

Yeast and banana. The flavour is heavenly. A palate of flavours just hits your mouth while drinking it. As others I can highly recommend this beer. ukoolaid (572), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA
