Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

The aroma does something to my brain that I can't really describe. It's appearance was its only weakness, I think. Little head, quickly disappeared. Other than that, this beer is spectacular. Plenty of hefe and plenty of bock. A perfect marriage. Nice and strong.

deep brown soft white cream like head. Cocoa, fruit brandy like aroma. rich soft palate, fruit notes, spiciness, long lingering finish warms the back of the throat. Truly an outstanding beer.

This brew was just like the bottle read, very malty and grainy! I liked the melloness of it, and the alcohol was noticed but the flavor of it was not over-powering! Very good.

The aroma is rich with fruituness and malt, has a dark cloudy appearance and a good head. The flavor is very complex with strong hints of chocolate, bannana and maltieness. Has a silky texture and leaves a chocolate-malty taste on the palate. You can taste the 8%, but in a purely positive way, an excellent beer that ranks in my top 5 of all time.

RERATE 7/16/04: 1999 vintage. Brown body, hazy, small off-white head, vinous nose with spices. Rather mellow body, but complex with doughy malt, dark fruits, clove, bubblegum and some vinous notes. Five years aging seems to have taken care of any banana esters and most of the original sweetness.

This 8% ABV Münchener is bottle fermented -- is unpasteurized and unfiltered -- and pours with a deep brown color and a thin foam head. It has a sweet taste, featuring chocolate, fruit and spice flavors. Finishes with a clove-like aftertaste.

The one and only. Hazy brown, huge fluffy white head in my Aventinus glass (just like the picture). Nose and flavor are quite complex with hints of spicy clove, pear, banana, sweet bread, and brown sugar. Tangy, fruity, spicy, with only a slight hint of hops near the end to round it out. Medium to full-bodied, fizzy carbonation, tangy, dry, spiced fruit finish. Consistently an amazing brew....
