APPEARANCE: Deep ruby-brown and suitably cloudy. Good solid head despite high gravity.
FLAVOR: Ripe fruit and raisins come together with dense wheatiness. No perceivable hops and some spice carries through into the flavor.
PALATE: Full-bodied with some warming due to the alcohol content. Slightly overcarbonated?
OVERALL: This big wheat beer surely defines all aspects of the weizenbock style. Despite the dark roast grain, a surprisingly smooth ale has resulted. I suspect that the roasty edge is taken off by the sweatness contributed by the malt. Some agitation proved beneficial in toning down the carbonation. Although I've never had the pleasure, I expect that this beer would age well. Sully (1367), Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia

Very welcoming caramel and crystal malt colour with a subtle aroma of same. The mouthfeel instantly gives a hint of the ABV. This is not a heavily hopped beer but is nevertheless balances well with the malt. A touch of wheat character in the finish with some spicy overtones. The only problem was the lack of head all the way down. RE-RATE: When a perfect specimen is found it really has an edge over many other beers. The uniqueness of its style is also a real treat. Full and smooth, yet without the heavy sweet malt infusion that dominates american bock beers Betty (234), Walgett, NSW, Australia

Above all else this beer is balanced. Despite all the gently clashing notes of fruit, yeast, and candy this beer never overwhelms in any one dimension. Conducive to savoring and introspection. It's medium brown in color with a nice frothy head. Has a very sweet taste. Taste fruits like plums, grapes. Carmel is also tasted. HumuloneRed (750), Portland, Oregon, USA

Bottle. Poured correctly (making sure to get the yeast) into an Aventinus glass, of course. It has a sweet malt, plum, banana and cookie dough aroma. Cloudy brown/red in color with a nice frothy head that lasts for a while. Some lacing. Notes of banana, apple/pear, clove, vanilla with a hint of chocolate. Creamy texture. Nice silky smooth finish. Nice weizenbock. dreamboat (186), Brisbane, Australia

Lovely aromas typical of wheat beers, with a bit of extra fruitiness thrown in for good measure. Flavours more of the same, with the alcohol not really right in your face as might be expected from a beer of this magnitude. It really is the definition of the entire style this beer.
