Aroma of banana and cloves. Flavor evolves mainly around banana and cloves with some caramel and perhaps milk-chocolate. Quite sweet with a sour finish. Very round, luxurious mouthfeel. Despite being quite sweet and nevertheless its strong alcohol content, VERY drinkable, dangerous actually. My only complaint is it felt a little dull in the end since the carbonation was down. Yet, one of my all-time favorites. SwedeDog (364), Windsor, Connecticut, USA

It probably has something to do with the large glare coming from the Belgian section right next to the Germans. Whatever. This is one damn fine beer. Overactive head, but it was fluffy and dissipated rather quickly. Great aroma. Banana, bubblegum, clove and chocolate all in the nose. One of the better aromas out there. It’s a little light, and that’s the only thing keeping it from a 10. Spicy and sweet mouthfeel. Very active carbonation in the mouth as well. Great flavor to match the nose. Somewhat vinous, but not too much. Also the aforementioned chocolate, banana, bubblegum and cloves. Very good beer. This one’s for Dortmunder. jtxx (141), san antonio, Texas, USA

2001 bottle: Smells lightly sour with some underlying nuttiness. Tastes of slight alcohol, but the flavors of the fruit and nuts have blended beautifully. MillStreetMan (152), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

It’s an absolute beauty, loaded with flavour - fruits, malts, wheat and just a touch of bitterness to counter the sweetness. Fantastic, and a relative bargain. BT (85), Newtown, Connecticut, USA

Very fragrant, yeasty, sweet aroma, very fresh. Mouth feels smooth and light, but not watery, a bit of alcohol. Flavor is full but hard for me to describe exactly...tasty though. I highly recommend.
