Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

Brown color. Huge ever-growing sustaining head and intense carbonation. Aroma of banana and cloves. Flavor evolves mainly around banana and cloves with some caramel and perhaps milk-chocolate. Quite sweet with a sour finish. Very round, luxurious mouthfeel. Despite being quite sweet and nevertheless its strong alcohol content, VERY drinkable, dangerous actually. My only complaint is it felt a little dull in the end since the carbonation was down. Yet, one of my all-time favorites.

Bottle. For some reason, I always tend to overlook German beers. It probably has something to do with the large glare coming from the Belgian section right next to the Germans. Whatever. This is one damn fine beer. Overactive head, but it was fluffy and dissipated rather quickly. Great aroma. Banana, bubblegum, clove and chocolate all in the nose. One of the better aromas out there. It’s a little light, and that’s the only thing keeping it from a 10. Spicy and sweet mouthfeel. Very active carbonation in the mouth as well. Great flavor to match the nose. Somewhat vinous, but not too much. Also the aforementioned chocolate, banana, bubblegum and cloves. Very good beer. This one’s for Dortmunder.

THis is what I am talking about, was a Heffeweizen, but not only that, it had this Bock flavor too, my two favorite beers, plus Lambic, combined in one.

Bottled, poured out into an Aventinus glass. Pours a dark healthy brown. Smell is of fruit and wheat. Taste is citrussy with some lemony bite. An excellent beer.

2001 bottle: Smells lightly sour with some underlying nuttiness. Tastes of slight alcohol, but the flavors of the fruit and nuts have blended beautifully.

This is simply one of my favourite beers, and one that I don’t really think has the reputation that it should have. It’s an absolute beauty, loaded with flavour - fruits, malts, wheat and just a touch of bitterness to counter the sweetness. Fantastic, and a relative bargain.

Thick, small bubbled head that didn’t last too long, creamy white. Very fragrant, yeasty, sweet aroma, very fresh. Mouth feels smooth and light, but not watery, a bit of alcohol. Flavor is full but hard for me to describe exactly...tasty though. I highly recommend.
