Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

Pour: Dark mahogany brown with a nice off white head. Nose: Banana, toffe, wheat, cloves, caramelized malt, dried fruit, molasses, and hints of raisins. Taste: Banana, toffee caramel and toasted malt, wheat, coffee, fig. Body: Medium to heavy Finish: Sutle bitterness that is well rounded, which helps blends the alcohol to a seamless beer.

On tap, Jacob Wirth’s. This is a beautiful beer. This style (of which I am a huge fan) executed to perfections. A nice brown, with a great head. Banana and cloves in the aroma and taste, goes down real smooth, just a superb beer all-around.

[500ml bottle at the Royal Standard of England, Beaconsfield] Gorgeous branded glass with this one. Chestnut black with a large beige head. Some carbonation - I would prefer a little less, but it’s in no way excessive. Tatses of raisins, prunes, figs, treacle, cloves, orange, plums and all things Christmassy (um... apart from turkey...). Like Christmas pudding in a glass - you could imagine using this as a sauce to go on your desert. Despite the sweet, rich flavours and the high ABV, this beer surprisingly does not leave a sticky mouthfeel - although I swear I could still taste . Very very good indeed as a winter dessert beer - although not something I’d particularly want on a summer afternoon! Very impressive stuff! c9

on tap at the devil’s den, philadelphia. huge glass, inspiring head. what makes this beer so loveable is the combination of summery crispness and luscious grainy fullbody with a bracing spicy finish. this is a beer that truly caters to summer without surrendering to wimpiness. a second glass from the same source was duller and under-carbonated, but i’ll rate the best and assume that’s typical of the brewer’s work.

A Magnificent beer. Dark brown with a nice fluffy off white head. Banana/plum and spice aroma. The Alcohol radiates off the palate. Full bodied but not filling. One of the best Weizen Bocks I’ve ever had.

500mL bottle. Aromas of clove and stewed fruit. Pours opaque brown with small but effervescent off-white head. Well-balanced with spicy fruit sweetness matching the soft bitterness and slight sour weissbeer undertones, nice full body, thick and creamy. One of my faves!!!
