Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

trully a well balanced bockbeer, with a dark reddishbrown colour, lovely creamy foam. Due to the weizen the taste is at first a little sweeter than expected, but the hoppiy finish is one of the best i ever had.

deep brown orange. poured with a huge head that stayed till the end; along with medium lace. Started with fruit/apple/clove and continued to develop as it warmed, gaining chocolate/bubble gum flavor as well. Mine started off a bit cold - even then the palate was medium - got very thick. well carbonated, but not fizzy tasting. (tasted in the RateBeer Chatroom - 10/30/02)

Funny, I thought I had rated this before. I drink it often enough. This is lovely and dark with a big white head. Aromas are sweet chocolate malts and banana. Flavours are as rich - being banana, chocolate, lots of malts and bready yeast. A great beer.

WOW! This packs some punch! Darker brown in color and cloudy when the yeast is mixed in. Spice and fruit notes throughout and possibly a floral taste/aroma as well. Recommended highly to all.

A classic. Huge malt aroma and tremendous banana, chocolate, clove, caramel flavor set in relief by alcohol.

Sweet glory... pours a dark ruby color with monster head. The taste is like a cross between a doppelbock and a Belgian White. There is the definite malt presence, but it is smoothed out by the wheat, yeast, and caramel. Fantastic!

Banana wheat bread. Very nicely hopped with a wonderfully rounded finish almost reminiscent of a sour cherry. Very nice beer.

this is the first time i have ever purchased a case of beer a on recommendations alone, but glad i did because this is one amazing beer! pours kind of murky even when poured slowly and head dissipates quickly. sort of a dark golden amber color when held up to a light. many different aromas rise from the glass it’s tough to distinguish all of them, banana, some other fruit but can’t decide just what it is. caramel is there but lightly, nice malt flavor. perhaps a bit more epervescent that i am used to but no big problem. finish is slightly warm but no noticable alcohol taste or smell, a slight clove taste at the finish. this bottle is fresh, could not find a vintage but sure plan to age some for about a year! wow...this is a wonderful yet confusing beer, easy to drink!
