Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

This is as close to perfect as it gets for me. The smell is a lovely caramel and butterscotch. The color is an unbeatable dark mahogany. Taste is impeccably subtle with hints of banana and clove of course but also a creeping saltiness that makes you want to chug the whole beer. I buy this beer every time I see it for $4 or less (the 500 ml bottle). I can’t imagine a better beer in this style and I’m not sure there is a beer out there that I’d rather drink. Yup, this is my one beer on a desert island beer.

"Vom fass" heads down the best weizen bock in the world, perhaps the best beer ever!

An intense, unique experience: the color a brown cloud, the head a billowing, persistent foam, the aroma and flavor deliciously pruney. Not for everyday imbibing; the very definition of a special-occasion beer.

Wow! Bananas are heavy in the aroma and then the cloves start. Have had this beer in both draft and bottle and the bottle is MUCH better. Some beers just don’t translate well to draft.

One of the most coplex beers I’ve had the pleasure of drinking. A doppelbock Weiss fullof great malt and chocolate flavor, also has a nice clove flavor. A combination of the best things about wheat beer and bock beer.

Truly enjoyed this one...sweet aroma but not too much. Nice, creamy head and a very unique deep brown I’m not used to seeing in a weissbier. Flavors include plums, chocolate, cloves, maybe a little cinnamon. Just a slight alcohol lingering, but of course rather high ABV. This one quickly made my top 10, maybe even top 5.
