Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

Aventinus is like a good friend that you continue to return to. Every time you see that friend, it is slightly different, and there’s always something new to learn. This was my first favorite beer, and it will always retain a special place in my beer palate. My palate has turned to hoppy beers recently, so I am not as in love with it as I once was, but when I lean towards malt, this is what I lean for. Just phenomenal

Excellent beer. It is fantastic out of the bottle and even better poured in a glass. The smell alone sold me on this beer. The aroma is not my favorite of all time, but still good. It consists of malts, toffee, wheat, banana, mocha, caramel and wine. The taste is fantastic with one of the greatest mouthfeels of all time in my opinion. The wheat, malt, banana, caramel, toffee and wine dominate the taste. There is a hint of milk chocolate in it as well, plus a unique sourness which is very enjoyable. This has been a favorite of mine for several months. I recommend it warm because more of the flavors are present. Spectacular aftertaste.

One of my all time favorites...apparently I suppose considering it’s the first I’ve chosen to rank here. I had this for the first time at a pub in Austin a few years ago and it was an experience. The most perfect balance of sweetness, carbonation, and alcohol. If anyone knows where to get this on tap in Texas please let me know.

Great beer. aroma is banana and spices. Almost like banana bread. Dark murky amber with a great head. Flavor is a subtle banana and yeast.

Bottle. Dark ruby brown color with a large off-white foamy head. I haven’t used the word complex in my ratings before, but I think I will with this one. Plenty of different aromas going here, fruity (bananas, apples), caramel, spices. For a higher alcohol beer, the alcohol is hidden well with all the other flavors dominating. An excellent wheat beer. Re-Rate (8-24-05) The more I drink this brew, the more I realize it’s my favorite. So good.

Tasted this one a few years back, and i do remember it as good, but this exceeds my expectations. Aroma is so mild and sweet, yet so complex. Lots of easters, spices including cloves, cherries and vanilla. Flavor of honey and port whine, with a palate that tickels your gums in a really plesant way, warming and sleightly bitter finish

Hazy dark brown with a huge dense head. Sweet aroma of banana and spices. The flavours are just amazing: toffee, roasted malts, banana, tropical fruits along with some spices, all in a perfect mix.

Bottle - The prettiest beer I have yet to see: A dark brownish ruby color with a thick white head. Sweet on the palate and the high alcohol content warms the stomach.
