Commercial Description:
Dark ruby, glistening mysteriously, streaked with fine, top-fermented yeast, this beer has a compact, stable and long-lasting head. It has an intensive, typically top-fermented clove-like aroma. The palate experiences a gentle touch, on the tongue it is very full-bodied, compact and yet fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes with a light and delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a strong, smoothly rounded, sour impression.

A superb, full-bodied German brew. Smells like banana, tastes like caramel, feels like staccato tuba music.

On tap at the Toro. Aroma is banana, green apple, nutmeg, clove, bubblegum, wheat. Tastes like it smells, only better, cuz it’s more better to drink a beer than sniff it. Top notch in every way. Mos def.

Pours dirty brown with a massive beige head. Wheat and grass dominate with some cloves, coriander and ginger, soy sauce and orchard fruits.Taste is pretty sweet and unfortunately (from my point of view) quite bananaesque. The malt makes it substantial enough to support the alcohol. Not really a bitter finish, but less cloying than wheat beers often are. Luscious mouthfeel. Excellent, but marked down a lot because I don’t like bananas.

500-ml bottle Marcello’s, Lafayette, La - Aroma: banana, clove, nutty (yeast), alcohol, smokey; Appearance: hazy, reddish-brown color, minimal off-white head, no laces; Flavor: sweet, salty, nutty, raisin (malt), bitter, banana, clove, spicy (hop/yeast), alcohol; Mouthfeel: moderate to full bodied, thin texture, soft-moderate carbonation, long dry-bitter finish; Overall: a nice color beer of spicy, juicy reminiscence of a banana bread with raisins, nuts, and smokey background aroma, which balances with refreshing long dry-bitter finish. My bottle didn’t have the nice fluffy/creamy head as others mentioned; I will have to get another one and re-rate.

Refigerated bottle poured into a weizen glass. Interesting dark brown with dark ruby color around the edges. Nice head and lacing that lingers. Taste is heavy clove, banana nut bread, and carmalized sugar aftertaste. Interesting brew, but a little disappointed.

500ml bottle from total wine in norfolk (can’t believe i haven’t rated this one yet) pours a deep, dark chestnut brown with a full, one-inch off-white head and great lacing. aroma is excellent with huge notes of cedar wood, clove, and banana bread with touches of wheat, yeast, nutmeg, and mild citrus. flavor is wonderful as well with huge, mildly sweet yeast and wheat notes with fruity touches of peach, orange, and banana and spice notes of clove, nutemeg, and cinnamon backed by hints of cedar, vanilla, and pumpernickel. palate is medium bodied with big, tingly carbonation and a lingering spiced, fruity finish. overall, a great classic brew.

Bottle, 500ml. A lot of hype surrounds this, but it’s really pretty disappointing, but not at bad beer. Great copper colour with a formidable head. You can taste notes of banana, vanilla, spices and hop. Medium-bodied with a little bit too much carbonation for my taste.

Pours coppery orange color with diminishing off-white head with slight lacing. Moderate bready malt aroma with some citrus tartness and alcohol. The flavor starts with bready malty fullness with caramelized sugars, alcoholic figs and banana esters. It gets more citrusy or phenolic at the end of the sip. Not too lingering finish with dried fruits and sweetish cocoa powder and alcoholic figs. Medium, but quaffable body with active carbonation level. Much more easier than expected, but not bad.
